Fire and Ice

Chapter 39

"Ay.. Ayah! you are alive, oh my god, Ayah listen to me, stay still I'll take you to Ms. Lucy, she will tend to your wounds, Ayah please, don't say anything." I can't lose him! I can't lose my father, I look around for something to help him out but he shakes his head. Kevin runs up to us and takes a seat next to Ayah.

"Don't waste the time I am left with, Sera, listen to me. I love you daughter, the future holds a lot of pain for you and Kevin." he tells me his words slurring as he loses consciousness.

"Hold on Ayag, you can't leave me. Don't talk right now. I'll take you to Ms. Lucy, once you are okay I promise I'll let you speak as much as you want." I cry out.

"This was what destiny decided for me." He pacifies. "Did you.. did you know this was gonna happen?" I accuse him, stammering.

"Sera, I also knew you were about to be cursed, and that you will not remember your powers. You swore on me you'll move..." He starts coughing out white stardust, star blood. "You'll move on with your responsibilities, you will not blame yourself if something happened to me."

"Sera, death is not bad, it is the ultimate truth. I have waited long enough, no more. Liste... listen to me, fac.. face mm.. me."

I do and he continues. "Seee..Sera give me some strength I know you can.. " He says and I let the strengthening lights run out of my palm to his heart.

"Sera, you will take this strength back once I have told you what I came here to tell."
He closes his eyes and thinks about something. He draws a deep sharp breath.

"The lover shall use the dagger,

hatred must lose the battle,

The Ice shall break it shall bleed,

only then will Fire breathe,

the Goddess may bless them,

Else they must be doomed,

Nova shall give them rays of hope,

Mary must stay at home.

For when the Lovers unite forever,

the Sea will come to take them.

To breathe they shall die,

and the petrified stones may come alive."

And as promised I sucked the strength I gave him back, as much as I don't want to do it I know breaking a promise will be the worst way to lose Ayah.

"Ayah, what are you talking about? Who shall die? What stoned stars are you talking about! Ayah, please tell me." I run to him confused to hold his hands, I know I am still burning, I can feel it. I can see what my heart is doing to the surroundings.

"Guide Rector, everything is going to be fine just stay silent, we'll take you to Guide Lucy, she'll heal you in no time." Kevin tells Ayah.

I can see dark clouds covering the sky over us, the stars become pale, winds start blowing and I know it's time my father leaves but I can't let him go. No. I still need him, I'll always need him. Ayah, no, he can't leave me!!

I sit down next to him and take his hand in mine making sure my hands are not on fire but he takes his hand back and moves it to caress my face.

I lower my head to help him, but midway as he does it I see his orbs become still, and his hand falls down to the ground. I stand up and run back in shock, I can't bear this no, Ayah couldn't have died.

I look at him, I hugged him the first time we met, at first sight. I was taught by him, fed by him, loved by him, cared for by him, he suffered so much for me and I, I killed him.

I am a monster, I don't deserve to live, I hate myself.

"Ayan wake up please, you are scaring me, tell me you are playing a prank on me, dad please, wake up dad please just once wake up and call me your daughter. Ayah throw me in lakes as many times as you want to I will never get upset Dad please, I promise I'll even return the books I took from the Void and never returned have claimed my ownership on them. Dad, I promise I'll do everything you ask me to... Dad please for once.. Ayah?"

"Sera?" Kevin calls me out, worried.

And then the wave hits me like a tsunami, bringing turmoil and rising chaos within me. I can't balance myself, something is pulling me down to the ground, not being able to get a hold of my devastating emotions, with me, it seems, the sky too wanted to mourn. With me rain came tumbling down.

I look around suddenly numb from the pain, and see what my breakdown has done, destruction, every jail has been demolished to nothing more than rubble.

I gasp, the once green grass is burnt and the ground that surrounds me is as hot as burning coal, it's like I am creating my own personal hell.

I look up to see the bright star of the Sky shoot but the clouds have taken away my last chance to see life in my father.

"Sera!" I hear Kevin yell for me. Everyone is here, Moon, Nat, Shabin, Lilith, Kenn every damn person who came here for me.

"No! don't come near me! Stay away from me, no, just stay away!!" I scream, afraid I'll hurt more of my loved ones.

"Sera, calm down, it's okay, cool down." Shabin says.

"No! just stay away from me, please, I beg you to stay away from me!!" I yell when I see my pleas are totally ignored by Kevin. He keeps moving towards me.

No, no, no, my heat, my energy can kill him, he doesn't remember his power to cool me down, he doesn't remember his ice.

"I SAID STAY AWAY!" I roar and I turn around. But then obviously the monster had to present itself to everyone. There is an arc of fierce fire in front of me, between Kevin and me. I am so scared, I was just two steps away from killing him, another person I love.

I fall down to the ground, face my hands, again. I weep, silently, but all of a sudden, it feels as if my fire is extinguishing. I am cooling down, what's happening? Am I getting in control? But then I feel an icy cold hand on my shoulder.
