Don't Believe Me
Don't believe my smile
It's a veil that I wear
To hide tear stained cheeks, I swear
Caused by actions so vile.
Don't believe my words
For they are hollow ,fabricated lies
Ones I spin to conceal
Searing pain, acute shame
And sheer heartache.
Don't let my laughter deafen you
It was a cry for help, now merely an echo
Of hollow insides, pain writhing in me
Heart aching for my innocence to return.
Don't get sweeped off by my clarity and wisdom
It was all borne in an attempt to
Make sense of the storms, who
With their sweet poison
Tarnished forever my soul's kingdom.
Don't get convinced by
The perfection I radiate
The courage I fake
The innocence I feign-
Though I miss it all dearly,
I'm broken.
