The blood ran through the gaps of her fingers, gravity pulling it down her hands and arms before splashing on the cold tiles. Loud ringing filled the empty space of the room, both inside and out.

The girl swallowed back the lump as more tears threatened to escape the prison of her mind. Nothing could help her now. Not the over growing love from friends and family, or her love for her pets. The icky disease that started in her brain, so very small, had wiggled, stretched and leaped it's way across her body now infecting her heart. Her bruised knees could no longer feel the coldness that had spread from the cold night to the tiles. No wild winds or savage stroms raged outside her window.

Just the savage darkness inside of her that she couldn't control. The darkness she pushed far back into her mind hoping that if she ignored them enough then she'd never have to deal with them and eventually would forget about them. The darkness that started out so very small but over the course of a few small months had grown the size of a bear. Striking her with every passing moment no matter what was happening in her life.

Happy memmories turned bittersweet. But the bittersweetness was laced with poison, everywhere she turns she's reminded of them and it hurts.

Nothing could stop the memories, nothing could stop the darkness. The more she tried to reach out to people the more she seemed to hurt them and herself. So she sat back, bottling it up.

Her phone dings. One of the closest people to her needs support. The darkness and emotions are pushed aside once again. The blood disapears. Time to put on a brave face and help even though she's breaking too.

Because if she didn't she'd hate herself more.
