It had been a couple days since you went out for ramen, you located the mildew sent to be coming from under the bathroom sink. and the more you walked on the floor boards the less they crunched and groaned. The conversation with the cute boy had nearly completely left your mind, But not completely.
Today was a very exiting day, you pulled your shoes on and ran out the door. what was today? well, you were being assigned to a team of ninjas! a normal team has four members on it, the sensei, and three genin/chunin/jounin, You had been told you were joining team 13, but you didn't know who anyone on the team was. You sprinted all the way to the training grounds, when you arrived a sweet girl with two buns came up and greeted you, giving you a warm smile and a handshake
"Hello! I'm Tenten, You must be Y/N? its going to be so amazing having another girl on the team, Lee and Gai can be so overbearing sometimes... oh but you haven't even met them yet!" she said excitedly.
"Lee, Lee, gosh that name sounds so familiar." you thought to yourself.
as the girl walked you over to the rest of the group you suddenly remembered why the name Lee seemed so familiar, there was that cute boy from the ramen shop. "what was his name? Hawk Lee? s-sock,, l-lock?? n-Nock Lee! that was it!"
you went up to Lee and gave him a big handshake and proudly proclaimed
"hello Nock Lee! do you remember when we met?"

oh my gosh this painful silence, what did i do? was that to bold? we just said hi at a ramen shop mayb-
"uh,.. I'm sorry. um... did you say Nock? you do seem a little familiar." lee said, clearly a little embarrassed
a huge blush covered your face, you realized that you still hadn't let go of his hand
"OH MY GOSHHHHH THIS IS SO HORRIBLE, IM SO AWKWARD. JUST KILL MEEEE" you thought as you quickly dropped his hand.
"oh so sorry i uh-"
looking around you realized you just needed to shut up before you made it worse.
surprisingly Lee seemed relatively unfazed,
"Well, my name is Rock Lee. nice to meet you!"
"ah, hello Lee. i'm Y/N, but i'm fine with nicknames. my old friends would call me Lotus, because they are my favorite flowers." you still felt a little awkward but maybe if you just said something it could distract everyone from the horrible moment you just had.
"Lotus? huh, they are my favorites too. because they represent purity" he said with a small smile
after everyone was done training you quietly walked home, but you realized that you were following Lee,
Does he live in the same neighborhood? you decided to catch up to Lee.
"hey Lee" you said slightly out of breath
"oh hello Y/N! is there something you needed to tell me?"
"no i just noticed we were walking in the same direction, do you live near here?"
"yes! i live in that apartment just down the road!" he said
looking down the road you realized that it was the same apartment you lived in,
"my goodness i just moved in there! i suppose we are neighbors then"
as you to walked to your apartment you realized that Lee was moving closer to you and blushing lightly. He awkwardly reached out to grab your hand, as he did you grabbed his and gently intertwined your fingers with his. when you looked up at him he was smiling and blushing lightly.
