Rays of early morning sunshine broke through the currents, waking Ango from his sleep. It was unfortunate really, he'd hoped he would've been able to enjoy at least another hour or two under the warm duvet and covers of the bed with his love. The sheets were warm, a breeze passing by the open windows to which they merely fluttered absentmindedly in return. Your back was towards him, and though his vision of you was blurred he couldn't exactly stop the smile that creeped onto his lips. Turning over he propped himself up on one elbow, reaching for his glasses, only to have a hand reach out and yank him backwards with surprising force.

"Don't leave yet," you grumbled, hair messed from sleep and a pout visible on your face as you stared at him, "stay a little longer, it's your day off remember?"

Ango blinked as he started at you, attempting to clear his vision if only slightly as his eyes met yours, he couldn't help but let out a small laugh in fact, to which you let out a protest, kicking him rather lamely under the covers.

"I was only getting my glasses love," he muttered, turning over to grab them, before rolling back to meet your gaze, this time able to see you clearly. And oh how beautiful you were, to be able to see you here like this, with you hair ruffled and rumbled from the bed sheets and the hoodie you slept in bunched up and lopsided as you blinked away the sleep left in your eyes rather awkwardly.

"Hey, don't stare though," you couldn't help but let out a small protest as he let a chuckle slip from his lips, wrapping an arm around you, bringing you closer to him.

"How can I not?"

"You're certainly romantic this morning." you mumbled dully as he brought you closer still, your legs entertaining beneath the sheets, burying your face in his shoulder do hide your blush.

"And you're certainly rather grumpy."

"Yeah, because it's like seven am on a Sunday and I would like the privilege of sleeping in with my fiancee because his work enjoys stealing him."

"We work at the same place."

"Maybe so but at least I know how time management works and that unlike some people, I don't pull three all nighters in a row," you looked up at Ango concern replacing your previous disgruntled attitude.you propped yourself up on one elbow, staring at him as your bangs falling across your face messily as you pleaded with him, "one of these days you could work yourself to death you know that? I care too much about you to stand by and let that happen, I don't want to lose you and this work is dangerous enough as it is without having you try and over work yourself to the point of exhaustion."

Ango blinked, staring at you as you stared right back at him, not once breaking eye contact. Before his expression softened, a sigh escaping his lips as a smile graced his features. Raising a hand to cup your cheek he pulled you closer, sitting up as he did, "I'm sorry love," he muttered, brushing away one of your bangs absentmindedly as you straighten his glasses in return, "I'll try and do better I promise."

"I know, and I know you have been lately but still..." Your voice trailed off as you gnawed on your bottom lip, an anxious habit you had yet to break.

"Well I can at least promise you that I won't be working myself to death anytime soon," he said with a small chuckle as you let out an indigent huff, "After all I still need to marry you."

"Sap." you grinned, pressing a kiss to the corner of his lips. He just smiled pressing a proper kiss to your lips in return. Grinning against the kiss as you dragged him back down onto the bed with a laugh, wrapping your arms around him as he hugged you tightly pressing a lazy kiss to your neck.

"Let's just stay like his for a while," he muttered against your skin, he didn't tell you about his worries of work and the new developments in the current case, you had been off recently due to an injury that had only just finished healing, there was no need to trouble you with news of terrorism and the threat of the entire country.

"Of course," you muttered back, you didn't tell him that you were worried for him. Your partner was gifted in many fields, and though perhaps the two of you could have better communication, you trusted him as he did you. After all, the world couldn't fall apart just yet, as you yet to properly steal his last name.
