Patience is a virtue - or so you had heard - but sometimes you wondered how on earth your dear lover could have so much patience. Patience for the screeching heathens that would come to berate him about his work, demanding to see the manager, seldom believing him when he said informed them that he was in fact the manager.

"Seriously Sigma, you can still be polite and put your foot down you know that right?"

"If I do that," he started, looking at you with a look of pure trust and worry, one that broke your heart to see, "I could end up losing a patron and that wouldn't be good for the Casino or anyone else and I just..." Sigma trialled off, sighing as he ran a hand through his hair, "I can't lose this place," he muttered, his words barely above a whisper.

A soft smile slipped onto your lips as you approached your dear lover, taking his hands in your own, "I know that love," you murmured, pressing a kiss to his forehead, "but please just try to take a little better care of your sanity alright?"

"Alright..."

The two of you were alone in his office, and it was a truly beautiful place, the desk was made of a rich mahogany wood, the carpet was soft and velvety, the decor elegant. It was a beautiful place and one Sigma found himself at home in, he felt at home here, and with you by his side even more so. He had perhaps only been alive for a fraction of your life, he hadn't gone through the hardships of growing up and had yet to face the feeling of heartbreak and terror of loss and the emptiness it brought with it. Something you never wished upon him, so you had long since decided to make sure he wouldn't.

To stay by his side and to comfort him to make sure everything would be okay, to assure him in times of hardship he needn't worry for he would have someone by his side. Someone who could aid in taking at least part of the burden from his shoulders, and while he couldn't give you the world, and you couldn't give it to him either, he would at very least have the comfort of having you by his side.

"Good," You smiled, "because if you don't start doing that I'll start dealing with the Karen's myself,"

"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Sigma sighed, looking at his amused partner who flashed him a cheery smile in return, your eyes stinging with mischief "I mean you don't work here and I am the boss so the responsible thing to do would be to say no to that offer."

"Yes dear I know but the question isn't who's going to let me, it's who's going to stop me." You chided, poking your lover in the ribs who sighed and let a small burst of laughter peel from his lips, the melodic sound bringing a large smile to your face as you took his hands in yours again. "Come on Sigma! We have time before either of us needs to go back to work properly, loosen up! I know you're stressed but neither of us needs to worry about his plan for a day or so, let's have some fun!"

Sigma couldn't help but grin at your words laughing again, as you pulled him forward, spinning around in a musicless dance, clumsy a bit awkward but still with a smile on his features as even if momentarily his anxiety might melt away and elation replace it as he joined you in your dance, your arms wrapping around him and his around you. After all, if patience was a virtue, he supposed this must be his reward for it right? And if so, he would gladly endure any hardship if it meant he could fall back into your arms.
