The Elemental Book

Chapter One

"HARLEY! WAKEUP ! NOW!"

"What?" I ask not opening my eyes.

"Come on what normal person is still asleep by this time" Jenny said obviously annoyed.

I just kept on moaning and pulled the sheets above my head. "Just five more minutes." I begged not wanting to move.

"No. We're going to be late or worse miss the... "

George didn't seem to finish talking cause I cut him off saying "I don't care." still under the sheets.

With that they jumped me. Yep, they pretty much crashed down on me on the bed.

I groaned and suddenly started laughing. Yes laughing. My best friends were tickling me.

"O...okay, I'm up." I said rolling of the bed with the sheets.

Thud

"Ouch!" Jenny and George both said squinting their faces in pain because of my fall.

"Well at least you're awake" Jenny said awkwardly scratching the back of her neck and biting her bottom lip.

I groaned but still stood up with her and George giving me a hand. I sat down at the corner of my bed Indian style and after a minute of silence I spoke up.

"How come you guys aren't still in bed by this time?" I said looking at my alarm clock. It was ten o'clock. "I mean after all that hard core partying last night."

We went out partying last night. A party for the 'soon to be' ninth graders. Apparently it was a 'big deal' (note my sarcasm) since in our school we had the tradition of partying all-night long for our transition into highschool to be complete.

"Because unlike you we're very dedicated to our summer vacation plans." George stated smugly.

"Yeah, I mean this is the one in the life time opportunity to go on a cruise and not waste our summer vacation doing boring stuff like fishing with our dads." Jenny drawled hitting herself face first with my pillow.

I laughed at this. She was so dramatic sometimes.

"Come on Harls, we need to get to the Frozendelite shop and fast so get ready." George said standing up from his spot on the bed pulling Jenny with him out of my room.

"So impatient." I murmured smiling.

"I heard that." George said turning to face me with a playful glare.

"I know. Now you two leave so I can get ready." I said pushing them out of my room.

I rushed downstairs after getting ready and met my two best friends in the living room. I went into the kitchen and met my mom cleaning up from breakfast and dad still drinking coffee. I missed breakfast but could still see some toast with eggs.

"Good morning mom." I said giving her a peck on the cheek. "Good morning dad." I said giving him a peck on the cheek also.

"Good morning Hon. How was your night?" My dad asked smiling at me

"Fine." I replied also smiling. "Um... Jenny and George are here so I'm gonna head out to the Frozendelite."

"Young lady this is the third time this week. Care to explain?" My mom asked me.

"I will but when I get back home." I said shooting her with my sweetest smile and sitting down at the table.

She let me be and I quickly wolfed down my food. When done I cleaned up after myself and pecked my parents once more before heading towards the living room.

"Finally we can get going." Jenny said sighing.

"Yeah, Isabel's waiting for us outside with her car." George said heading straight for the door.

In case you're wondering who Isabel is...

She's this kid we met this last semester and she's kinda cool. She's pretty and smart. She has a drivers license and yes she's fourteen just like us. Don't even ask how cause I seriously don't know. She's our friend now.

"It's about time! I was really tempted to go to the Frozendelite shop all by my self." Isabel said starting the sleek, black mustang.

I know what you're thinking. What kind of parents buys that kind of car for a fourteen year old? Honestly I didn't know.

"Hey, seatbelts on Jenny." Isabel reminded putting the gear on drive.

"Sorry Isabel." Jenny apologized. "I'm just so pumped about going to the Frozendelite that I forgot to buckle up." She said grinning.

Isabel might be too young to drive but is a safety freak when she's in control, especially if it's her car.

I was sitting at the back with George and Jenny at the passenger seat. I asked for some music and Isabel happily agreed.

"Please let's not listen to Roar by Katty Perry. You play that almost every time." George pleaded.

"Alright George we're going to listen to Panda by Lil and we're going to listen to it on full blast." Isabel declared as she drove off in direction of the Frozendelite shop and the music on a deafening beat.

"What's wrong with you and animals Isabel?" I asked laughing.
