Obi-Wan hopped off his ship. It was 8 pm in Coruscant. He hoped that no one back at the Temple would realize that he has gone somewhere. Gently, he knocked on the door.
Greeting him from the inside was Satine. She already change out from her formal attire into a more non formal dress. She leaned on the doorway for a moment before gesturing Obi-Wan to come in. After he went inside, the door was shut closed.
"So," he started, "you invite me to eat dinner?" Obi-Wan sat on the couch of the living room as Satine makes her way to the kitchen. "Yes I do, I cooked them myself," she half shouted from her position.
Obi-Wan eased himself and soon Satine came back with two plates of chicken and salad. "It's been a long timd hasn't it since the last time I ate one of your foods?"
Satine grinned before replying, "Well yes, around a decade."
Obi-Wan chuckled a bit, remembering those memories of them running around, trying not to die. Satine handed Obi-Wan his plate and utensils and then she sat down next to him.
After taking a bite, Obi-Wan spoke again. "It definitely tastes better," he complimented. "At least better than the ones in the Temple."
Satine smirked. "You Jedi are terrible at cooking," she insulted. "I still remember that raw fish."
Obi-Wan almost chocked on his food in the mention of that. The only time he has ever cooked, he served Satine and Qui-Gon with a raw and bland fish. "In my defense, they don't teach us how to be a chef."
"And yet I still can cook without having a chef education."
He only rolled his eyes and continued to eat. There was a brief moment of silence as they chew the meat. "So why did you invite me again?" Obi-Wan asked, breaking the silence. "Obviously it's not to talk about cooking," he joked.
After taking a sip of her drink, Satine answered his question. "Well I.. I.. I just.." she stuttered. She could feel her cheeks burning slightly. Obi-Wan noticed her slight blushing and, although he originally wanted to say something about it, he ended up going against it.
She exhaled and then looked at him in the eyes. "I missed you," she whispered, even though no one else was there to hear her. A smile was formed in the Jedi's face.
Satine looked down to her plate, slightly blushing. She toys around with her food for a bit before saying anything again. "I'm scared," she confessed. Obi-Wan raised an eyebrow in confusion.
The Duchess blinked several times to hold back her tears. "Why?" he wondered. Without thinking, Obi-Wan held her hand. She was caught surprised and immediately looked up to him. Realizing what he had done, he quickly released his hold. Just as he take back his hand, Satine grabbed them. "I'm scared to loose you."
A single tear dropped. Obi-Wan used his other hand to wipe the tear from her cheek and Satine lets him. It was quick, but it will never be forgotten. She quickly hung her head low again, avoiding his gaze.
"People fight, sometimes verbally, sometimes violently. The people you fight becomes your enemy. When an enemy loses, they can either accept defeat, or they can take a darker path, revenge. And when someone starts the game of revenge, at the end, one side will hurt."
Finally, she made eye contact. Her eyes watery and his with concern.
"Maul is playing this game, and you're apart of it. I don't want you to be the one who got hurt. I don't want you to die." She could barely speak anymore at this point. She squeezed his hands as if she's never going to be able to do it ever again.
"I can't walk away," he tried to reasoned with her. "When someone will die, you have to accept it."
"You're a hypocrite."
