Chapter 11. Battle of Sundari

Author's note: I know I haven't been updating so I'm giving you guys the longest chapter yet with 4000+ words. Enjoy....

The Republic army charged right into the Capital city of Mandalore. What greeted them from the inside were of course Maul's forces. Ahsoka's squadron was the first one to meet them, thus creating heavy casualty numbers for their group.

Ahsoka ignited her two green lightsabers and charged right into the enemy. She sliced those who ran towards her and deflected blasters aiming for her and her troops. On her left was Captain Rex, firing with his two blasters. The squad ran towards the west side of the city.

"This way!" Ahsoka shouted, and the group ran into a bridge. Maul's forces was waiting for them there. They, without hesitation, shoot at Ahsoka and her troops, causing them to loose more men.

They took cover from the fallen debris. Ahsoka pressed tightly into one of the debris. She turned on her comm as the firing continues. "We're on our way to sweep the city through the west," she shouted. Ahsoka took a peek at the enemy for a quick moment before taking cover again. "I'll make contacts later, just get to the palace!"

And with that Ahsoka jumped right into the middle of the bridge. She used the Force to push back the warriors. After doing so, she ignited her lightsabers again and ran to the enemy, taking the offensive. She decapitated the one in the front, then sliced three Mandalorians at the same time in the stomach.

Seeing the improvements Ahsoka is making, Rex ordered his men to start charging again. "Go! Go!" he ordered. The Mandalorian rebels going with them fly using their jetpacks and charged from the sky, taking down the enemy from above.

Ahsoka noticed Maul's forces starting to retreat. She take a quick look at Rex and smiled at him. Then, just as quick, she was back on the action again, charging with the troopers.

On the other side of the battlefield, Bo-Katan, Cody, and their troops managed to break through enemy lines. The group ran in the streets, some flying. There weren't many enemy forces in the area, so they weren't having a really hard time.

Just as they scanned through the buildings, Bo-Katan noticed one building in particular. It was the information building where data are recorded in. "Cody!" she called the Commander of the 212th battalion. Cody heard her and quickly ran to the Mandalorian.

"Yes sir?" Cody responded. He didn't know what to call her officially, so he just called her sir. "That building," Bo pointed, "it stores files and information in there."

Cody understood right away. "Then that means, if we can hack into the computers.." he realized. "We'll be able to find out Maul's tactics," she finished. The two looked at each other and they quickly went to work.

Bo-Katan ran towards her second in command, Ursa Wren. "Ursa, I need you and two men to go inside and hack into the computers," she instructed. Ursa nodded. She gestured for two of the rebels to come with her. The three turned on their jetpacks and fly towards the building.

Just in time, more of the enemy came firing at them. Bo-Katan and Cody was caught off guard and casualties starts to pile up. The squad took the surrounding buildings as cover and continue to fire at the engaging enemy.

The firing goes on for about five minutes when Bo-Katan remembered a route to surprise the warriors from behind. "Distract them," she lowly ordered before flying away with the rest of the rebels. Following orders, Cody keeps firing at Maul's forces.

Bo led the others through a path that circled around the battlefield. Luckily for them, there was no one there except for the civilians hiding away from the ensuing battle. They were scared, of course. Children were clinging to their mother's arms, elderly hanging onto their cane. It broke Bo's heart, but she needs to stay strong. They are fighting for them, after all.
