That fucking bastard
I trusted him with my entire life, all of my secrets, and all of my haunting past. And what does he do? USE IT AGAINST ME
God I wanna slam my head into a concrete wall. Grayson, out of all people didn't need to know what really happened, especially from Luke. Call after call, no matter WHAT I did I couldn't get ahold of either of them.

It rung. And rung. And rung-

"hello?" Grayson said through the other end of the phone. A breath of relief left my lips as I heard his voice
"Grayson? Where are you?" I asked him
"I'm about to leave my house, is everything okay?" He asked
"Are you going to meet up with someone?" Suddenly the rushing around stopped as he lightly laughed into the phone
"Why? Would you be jealous?" He laughed again
"No what would I be jealous over?" I rubbed my forehead and shook my head
"Well what if I have a hot date waiting for me outside right now? Would you be jealous over that?" my eyes widened as I scrunched my eye brows
"I wouldn't be jealous. I don't have a care in the world if you like a girl" I said
"But this is completely off track, that wasn't why I called you" I said a little too fast
"Then what did you need?" Gray asked
'Grayson! Hurry up!' Someone shouted in the distance
"I'm sorry, is it okay if I call you back Loni?"
"U-Um I guess but it was-" the phone beeped. As he hung up
Damnit damnit damnit
At least that didn't sound like Luke on the other end, so that was a bonus. It didn't seem like he had any intentions of going to see him, let alone hangout with him.
I thought Luke would have picked up the phone after the 60th call, but I was wrong. He must have blocked my number or something, because he clearly wasn't going to pick up the phone. So, even though I was going to dread this, I needed to find him

Luke's POV:
I had one goal, and that was to find Grayson.
He's only heard one side of mine and Loni's relationship and I knew damn well that she lied about 90% of it. Sure, call me a no good piece of trash for 'using' her, but trust me. She did a LOT worse. Before I could get into any of my ranting I needed to meet up with Grayson. Sure, we didn't have good first impressions because he sided with Loni, but I could fix that. He needed to know
And luckily, I knew exactly where he was going
-
"Grayson! It's good to see you here" I sat next to him on a bar stool, while he took a sip of what ever beverage he was drinking
"I'll have whatever he's drinking" I patted Grayson and on the back and smiled. He didn't dare to make eye contact with me
"Thank you...Avery" I squinted at her name tag and sipped the drink
"Of course, No alcohol" I rolled my eyes and placed the glass down on the counter
"What are you doing here?" Grayson asked me
"I need to talk to you" I said to him, only to get a laugh in return
"I'm serious" I turned towards him
"I'd rather watch paint dry, then listen to whatever you have to say Luke" I wasn't shocked
"Are you here alone?" I said, Grayson nodded and let out a small sigh
"It's about Loni. And before you get all defensive I need you to hear me out." I said as I took a sip of fruit punch or whatever was in the cup
"What about her?" Grayson already seemed pissed off
"I'm assuming that you have 'heard' our story. You can choose to believe me or not but I want you to hear me out." He sighed again and turned my way
"Loni and me started dating two years ago on June 17th 2018. It took her a good couple months to finally open up about her mother. It was her moms birthday, and they all decided to spend it on the lake. Her mom was a Marine Biologist by the way. But, as time passed, winds started to pick to up, even though none of them were worried about it. Loni told me that it was around 7 pm when the sun set, and the waves started to get bigger. They were about to bring up the anchor and sail back to land but the weather had other plans for them.
Water started gushing into their boat, as the anchor wouldn't budge. Even if it did it wouldn't have helped anyways. So, Loni's parents told her and Keeth to take cover in the small indoor area that was just used for storage, while their dad called the coast guard. The heavy winds and water was too much for them to get back. I heard that as time passed the waves got stronger and sometimes even submerged the whole boat for a few seconds. Their mom was frantic and tried anything to get out of there, even though nothing worked. Half of the boat was under water when the coast guard and helicopters finally got there. But there was only room for three people on the helicopter, one had to stay behind. I don't know how stupid the coast guard was, but after a long fight Loni's mom stood her ground and stayed behind. She wanted to make sure everyone else was safe. So when Loni and Keeth were taken away their dad said his last goodbyes to his wife. And the boat sank." Grayson looked down and gulped.

"But I'm not here to show sympathy for Loni. I already did that. After we started dating some things happened. Her family got sued for a hefty amount of money. Her parents boating company was on the line after all these years later. Which was, and still is one of their main sources of income. Her dad came so close to loosing everything to the insurance company...And Loni went down this dark path. She wasn't sad or depressed, she was hurt and didn't know how to handle it so she took it out on me. I know you probably don't believe me, but once her dad delivered the news that they basically lost their house, she pushed everyone away and when I didn't listen it got physical. She hated me. Acted like this was my fault. I told her that she needed to stop worrying because there was nothing she could do. Of course she didn't like that answer and threaten me. She told me to get out of her life before she called the cops to get me to leave. I was her fucking boyfriend! I was supposed to be there for her but instead she decided it was best for her to go through this alone. I thought I lost her, or did something horribly wrong and started drinking every night. It was my coping medicine. After a couple weeks she decided to come see me, and when she walked in my apartment I was with another girl. That girl happened to be my sister but it took Loni's drunk ass a good 5 minutes to realize that. Not that it mattered because she ended up storming off and not returning for another week. And when she did come back, I was with a girl. One that was from the club.
I came home, making out with her only to find Loni sitting on my bed with a fucking knife beside her. She threatened the girls life while she held the knife to her chest, Grayson."

He shook his head and squinted his eyes. Waiting for me to continue

"So, I promised to stop bringing girls home even though I thought that her pushing me away was a sign that we were broken up. Sure, you can say I 'used' her for her money, but that was her way of making it up to me after all the countless times she threatened to kill me. Of course, she was drunk every time she got psycho
But the only reason Loni decided to get help and go to rehab was because her dad got their company stable and obviously got to keep the house. How? Well her Dad threatened to slit the mans throat, the one who was trying to take everything away. And he said if he ever spoke of this to anyone that he would make sure every single member of his family died. I know, pretty dark. The only reason I found out about this was because Loni happened to show me the video tapes before her dad destroyed them.

Loni's POV:
I searched for a good hour. I couldn't find Luke anywhere, he wasn't at home, or the mall, or his favorite hangout spots. So I gave it one more chance and drove to the local bar. I jumped out of my car and looked in the huge glass windows. There he was, sharing my past to the one person I wanted to start over with. The shocked expression on graysons face explained it all.
