OK PLAN TIME BC I AM NOW IN ALL REGION MODE!!!!! (literally me 9 months of the year, i'm sorry!)
EXCERPTS
1. work on notes + rhythms for march slav and jupiter (1 month)
2. dynamics all around + a little phrasing??? (1.5 months)
3. PHRASE THE HECK OUT OF ALL THE EXCERPTS OMG BRING IT ON!!!!! (2.5 months)
4. continue phrasing and messing with interpretation ig. (1 month)
5. mock auditions + play like the audition + force mom to video me (2.5 months)
6. extra 2 weeks for hawaii and christmas break and off days
SCALES
1. work on high scales D-F# Major and minor (1 month)
2. work on other scales ig (2.5 months)
3. work on special scales! (minors and weird key signatures, 1.5 months)
4. work out shifting errors + coming down + arpeggios(1.5 months)
5. assign random scales for mock auditions + video auditions (1 month)
6. run through all scales once a week until the audition (~ 2 months)
this won't be perfect but i want to have some sort of a plan for scales since that was my biggest weakness last year.
SOLO
(all state haha)
1. finish learning the rieding concerto in G Major (1.5 months)
2. really perfect it and add musicality (2 months)
that's all pretty much. i won't know if i'm going to all state until after i make region and audition for state, which is in march/april usually. i also will touch on state excepts starting like, late october/early november bc i don't want to be left floundering.
SIGHTREADING
actually kinda good at this???? but we need to work on it.
1. sightreading factoryyyyyyyyy my best friend (2 months off and on)
2. ask payne for old pieces to practice on during lunch if we actually go back to school lol (1 month)
3. go in for the mock auditions during lunch for help on EVERYTHING!!!!! (a one maybe two time thing, depending on how i do and what she says)
i think that's it???? honestly not a lot??? i just want to make really good progress early that was it's not november and "oh shit, the audition is in two months and i haven't practiced at all", you know?? so yeah, if y'all wanna drop some tips in the comments, pls do. and i'll comment my excerpts so that way y'all know what i'm getting into lol. this year is...easier than last year?????????? maybe i'm being too cocky but i need some self confidence here.
