Your POV:

Being on defense is supposed to be the safest job. It is the safest job, except for when it isn't. So, except for when you're going up against the Athena and Ares cabins at the same time, then you're pretty much fucked no matter what your position is.

It's pretty rare that they end up together, but when they do, you should just give up from the start. Even us Apollo kids can admit that, well, most of us at least.

But of course, because the Fates hate me, we were on a team with cabin seventeen, Nike's cabin. Or in other words, the most competitive people you will ever meet. So there's no chance of team blue throwing in the towel this time, not that that was ever an option to begin with.

Because of the whole mango fiasco yesterday capture the flag was moved to today, Sunday, instead. Normally we don't do them on Sundays but today was an exception.

The teams were divided like so: team blue had Apollo, Nike, Zeus, Demeter, Hermes (and yes, I was right once again, Connor and Travis still looked just as ridiculous as yesterday), Iris, Hebe and Hypnos. While red had: Ares, Athena, Hephaestus, Aphrodite, Dionysus, Nemesis, Hecate and Tyche.

Which was totally unfair to begin with if you ask me. I mean, come on, almost all of Hebe's kids are pacifists. And Hypnos kids, well, do I need to say any more?

Usually Aphrodite cabin wouldn't be of much help either, but since they were still pretty pissed from yesterday and we had the Stolls in our team... Naturally they wanted to kill all of us.

Luckily for me I'm an archer, I get to stay somewhere high and hidden. Today that just happened to be a tree. Yes, it was closer to the front line than I would have liked, but I still should be concealed enough to get through the game without being captured.

But again, the Fates hate me, so why would it ever go my way.

Within the first twenty minutes of the game I was spotted, stupid bright orange shirts always. I did put up a fight, but it was no use, once I lost the higher ground and fell down I was chopped meat.

Within the next five minutes I was being hauled away to 'jail'. Not cool, really not cool. Of course I'm the first one here, but that doesn't mean I plan on staying this way. You see, if you're still stuck in jail by the end of the game, you get extra chores.

I waited for my perfect opportunity and made a run for it. After about 50 meters I could start to hear shouting from behind me, which was some really good motivation to keep going. Another 100 or so meters and the forest started to get thicker as I noticed more and more trees around me, a good indication to turn right, back to my own side.

It's impossible to learn the routes here in the forest, dryads get restless and they move around, it's different every day. I know the general direction I'm going in though so I just keep going, until I hear voices. Two voices to be specific, one I know way too well.

"Yeah, yeah, I can fix it. Jeez, what in Zeus' name did you do to this poor thing? Just give me a moment, okay?" Yep, that's Leo alright. The second guy said something that I couldn't quite catch, followed by some shuffling and a shriek from Leo.

"No- No! just get away from it, I'll be fine! Not like anyone's gonna come this deep into the forest anyways, I don't get why you guys even need traps here," I hear a huff followed by footsteps, I wait a little bit longer until the only thing I can hear is Leo murmuring to himself and the sound of metal clicks, then I jumped out.

I use my bow and throw it around him, trapping his arms at his side and making him unable to move. I lose my balance by doing so and we both fall to the ground, I make sure my bow stays firmly around him as I sit up, still behind him. He's about to scream but I place my hand over his mouth, to which he reacts by licking it.
