Lisa

She'd wanted that. To see her broken. The only person she'd seen thoroughly broken while still yet living, was herself.

She just... wanted to know how it happened. It was a childish curiosity, more than a malicious attack.

She hadn't felt anything in so long. Pain. Misery. Sadness. Happiness. She felt more than anyone.

Lisa thought, Jennie could show her what it was like. She hadn't connected it- what the brokenness would do to her.

She did was done to her, expecting, like always, since they were children, that she'd be stronger than her.

Internally. THat her light was unbreakable.

But she was only human. Lisa always thought of her as an angel- one huge beacon of light. On that premise, she could withstand anything.

But she forgot. The concept of fallen angels. Angels whose light had been stolen. Broken.

She had fallen to the ground. Now the only thing that made her smile for a moment, was a little blue pill, that made her sleep for hours.

She hadn't meant for this to happen. She didn't think it could. She knew she would be sad. Hurt. But he didn't think...

She didn't think she would end up like her. Heart beating but feeling nothing. Empty inside. The emotions Lisa could feel was external.

She could see her pain. Could see her joy. Could. Back when she had them.

Angels like her... they were never meant to fall. She was the loveliest of all. The loveliest angel she'd ever seen.

It was hard to reconcile what she was now.

She wiped away her tears. She hadn't cried in decades. Hadn't truly smiled, laughed.

Lisa's body was empty. Jennie was the vessel with which she felt. But now she felt nothing. Nothing.

The girl she met all those years ago was gone. Who felt nothing but the light.

She could no longer feel the sun. The only thing brighter than her.

Will there ever be a place for the broken in the light? Is it possible? Even if she put her back in the light, would she survive? The way she was now?

She didn't know what to do. Did she feel sad? Was she angry? Was she hurting? She didn't know. She didn't know how to tell. Maybe he never did.

Jennie was her compass. She didn't understand the people around her. But she... she was the one person she understood.

But now, she didn't know her. There was no her. She couldn't fix it. She was like her now. An existence plagued.

If Lisa did anything now, she'd fall apart. There'd be nothing of her left.

What had she done? What had she done to the most beautiful creature she ever knew?
