Warning: Drug use

True to her word, Lettie took Kiara out for a midnight surf. The two girls rode waves until the early morning, but Lettie doesn't know how much it actually did to ease her best friend's mind about the John B and Sarah situation.

"There's no way he ditches us after we get this far," Lettie assured as the pair sat on the beach, "I'm pretty sure Jj and Pope are on our side."

"They better be," Kiara had mumbled.

Lettie shrugs, "Well there's no way Jj isn't on our side."

"If we have nothing, at least we have him," Kiara jokes, "I just don't get John B."

"No one does, but whatever decision he makes is gonna tell us a lot about him."

Kiara nods at the french girl's words, not saying anything and focusing on the sounds of waves crashing over the reef.

The pair retired back to the Carrera home not long after, and Lettie was disappointed to see an empty bed. If she were at her house, Jj probably would have snuck in. But, on the second floor of the wealthier family's home, the task seemed to be a bit more difficult. After a shower to rinse the salt water from her hair, Lettie got into her temporary, plush bed, and drifted off to sleep, tired from the day's events.

--

The early morning brought a headache for Lettie. So, the girl told the Carerras and was left to sleep the day away. Eventually though, Kiara brought a wake up call. The curly headed brunette shakes Lettie's shoulder, "Frenchie, get up, Pope just called and apparently the boys are stranded in the marsh."

Lettie waves a hand, groaning and turning to dig her face into the pillow, "It's fine. Leave them there," She mutters, trying to keep her eyes closed as long as possible.

"You're gonna leave your boyfriend to die on the water?"

"Dramatic. He'll be okay," Lettie dismisses, turning over and opening an eye to peek at her friend, "He's a scrappy one."

"Lettie."

"Kiara."

"Lettie."

"Fine!" Lettie whips the sheets off her body and a content Kiara leaves the room. Lettie gets into a navy blue bikini and pulls a black pair of jean shorts on, as well as a white Ocean and Earth t shirt she had bought second hand a while ago. Kiara meets the girl outside by the bug when they're ready, both of them wearing their favourite pairs of vans.

When Lettie tiredly drives out to the marina, they park and head down the dock, spotting Pope on the HMS immediately, "Code red!" The boy calls out.

"What the hell is going on?!" Kiara yells back.

"Jj and John B conked out on the marsh, they need a tow," Pope explains.

Lettie boards the boat, holding out a hand for Kiara to do the same, "Why do we have to be here?"

Pope shrugs, looking at Kiara, "We need you for mechanical."

The girl sighs, "Mechanical."

"What am I?" Lettie asks, sitting down on the bow, "Moral support?"

Pope nods, "Pretty much," Pulling away from the dock, "John B and Jj are up in the Alp."

The ride out isn't long, and the evening light is pretty. But, Lettie still puts her sunglasses over her eyes and takes a quick cat nap anyways. She's tired from her surplus of sleep and the lingering ache in her skull.
