Your POV

You have always been scared of the lightning and thunder. It was raining really heavily that night, and you were unable to sleep as the flashes of lightning and loud crashes of the thunder was really terrifying for you.

You closed your eyes and screamed at yourself mentally. You needed to sleep, as you had a match tomorrow.

"Come on Y/N, you can do it! Just close your eyes, focus and you'll be asleep in no time!" You told yourself.

Just as you felt your eyes getting droopy, a loud boom startled you and your tiredness almost instantly went away. You groaned in defeat. You just had to accept the fact that you won't be able to get any sleep tonight.

You looked at the time. It was one thirty in the morning. You decided to just go to the shared library instead, since you couldn't sleep anyways.

You walked there quietly, and when you pushed open the huge doors of the library, you realised that you were the only person there.

Sighing, you went to find a book that would hopefully be able to calm you down. Just then, you saw a book that caught your attention, but it was on the top shelf, and you couldn't reach it.

You jumped up, again and again, trying to reach it, but to no avail. Just then, an idea popped up in your mind. It's dangerous, but definitely worth a shot.

You stepped on the second level of the shelf, and pulled yourself up. Steading yourself, you reached your hand up onto the top shelf, with your other hand pressed against the pillar beside the shelf for support.

"Aha!" You pulled the book out roughly, forgetting that you were standing on a shelf, so you let go of the pillar that you were holding onto for support.

Then, you felt yourself lose your balance, and you widened your eyes in terror as you came to realisation of what is happening, as you let out a gasp.

Joseph's POV

I stepped into the library. Expecting myself to be the only person in here as usual, I was surprised to see someone else here, jumping up and down, as if she was trying to reach for a book that was on the top shelf.

As I walked closer to her, I realised that she is Y/N, a survivor.

What was she even trying to do? She was stepping on a shelf, reaching up towards the top shelf.

How has she not seen me yet?!

"Aha!" She exclaimed loudly, pulling a book out of the shelf roughly. Did she forget that she was standing on a shelf?

I walked quickly towards her to catch her just in case she fell.

She did.

And so did I.

She landed on top of me.

I could feel my face heat up, and thankfully she was back facing me so she is unable to see me.

Your POV

You quickly got off whatever you fell on and gasped in shock when you realised it was Joseph.

Joseph Desaulnier, the Photographer.

"Oh my god! Joseph! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to!" You apologised profusely, your face turning red like an apple.

He quickly got up as well, examining you closely. "Are you okay? Did you get hurt?"

You shook your head. Why was he being so nice suddenly? You thought back to those times during your matches with him where he ruthlessly slashed you and your teammates before very roughly shoving you down onto the rocket chair...

"How about you? Are you hurt?" You asked him. He was still staring at you.

He nodded his head and quickly looked away. You could see his face turning red slowly.

"What were you trying to do anyways?" Joseph asked you, breaking the awkward silence around you guys.

"Uh... I was just reaching for this book?" You held up the book that you were so desperately trying to read, showing it to him.

He looked at it and nodded, not knowing what to say or do.

Just then, a loud booming noise filled the library, and the lights went out.

You were beyond terrified. In fact, terrified was an understatement.

You started to scream. Soon, you felt hot tears running down your cheeks and it got hard to breathe.

You ran towards where Joseph was standing and held onto his coat tightly.

He gasped, but started stroking you comfortingly.

"Don't worry love, I'm here. Everything will be okay." He said in a soft voice.

You started to calm down a little, but you could still feel your heart beating rapidly against your chest.

Just then, the lights came back on. You looked up, seeing Joseph looking down at you, his blue eyes filled with concern.

"Do you feel better now?" He asked. You nodded. Slowly, you let go of his coat.

Joseph then held your hand and led you to a chair. He sat down on it, and pulled you down so you were sitting down on his lap.

"Try to get some sleep, ma chérie." He said, wrapping his arms around you protectively.

And that was when you realised that you had caught feelings for him.
