ACT 4

Act 4 Scene 1

(Ruth, Roxie and Jeffery are in the shop helping their mom sell her goods)

Jeffery: Ruth I have not seen my result yet but I overheard someone say I had a B3 in Further mathematics

Roxie: I haven't seen mine yet

Ruth: well, I have seen mine, I came second in class

Roxie: that's nice

Ruth: Jeffery when you get to the university don't forget us

Jeffery: how would I forget my lovely sisters?

Ruth: so what do you know about the university life

Jeffery: I can't tell, when I get there I'll know what she looks like. I can't wait. I just want mom to get some money and send me to school.

(A customer walks in)

Chris: please, I want (surprisingly) Roxie is this your shop?

Roxie: yes

Chris: how's the holiday

Roxie: fine. What of Serena?

Chris: I heard she's attending a government school now

Roxie: that serves her right, what do you want to buy?

Chris: two bottles of wine, 5 cartons of biscuit and 2 packs of bottle water

Roxie :( uses a calculator) it's N8,050

Chris :( brings out the money) here it is

Roxie: thanks

Ruth: are the NECO results out

Chris: I don't think so, but that of the seniors are out

Jeffery: seriously

Chris: yes

Roxie: okay then, bye. Please inform me when you see the results

Chris: no problem

Ruth: have a nice day

Act 4 Scene 2

(The scene opens with Ruth and Chika discussing)

Chika: now I have upgraded. So you say I cannot fit speak correct English now I have learned

Ruth: (laughs) please stop that joke

Chika: I am not joking, do I look like a joker clown

Ruth: please continue with your pidgin before you'll kill me here

Chika: what did you call me for?

Ruth: o girl, speak pidgin, its better

Chika: (in pidgin) Okay, why you call me come (Ok, why did you call me?)

Ruth: See, I'm falling in love with Joel; I can't keep on acting like this towards him. I need him badly

Chika: now you are beginning to grow, you were behaving like a child before. Now let me advice you. (In pidgin) You go tell am say you dey sorry (Tell him you are sorry). Put it like this, Joel you are my sleeping and waking thoughts, I am sorry for treating you badly, I have been pretending all this time, please find a space in your heart and forgive me. And you guys will start a relationship
