"paige, I love you" the silence struck like a knife, a sudden shot of pain at her lack of reply. The party we had ran from, began to die. The music still strummed in the background like a bee. You could hear the shouting of the last few, brave enough to stay. The wind was whistling at every corner it hit, like an old singer. Maybe she didn't hear me? Maybe I wasn't loud enough? I was about to say it again when a lightning bolt hit the silence of the sleeping city. The moon looked down on me and her, laughing at me, mocking my cowardly excuse of an escape.

Paige shivered beside me and I moved closer to her to warm her up. The jumper that I wore sat around my waist, useless to me. So I chucked it over her shoulders as our feet dangled over the city below. "thank you Harry" she looked at me, the galaxy's reflecting in her eyes.
