Episode 12 - (4th Of July Edition)

Henry and Barbara's Home

Gwen was slowly pacing the living room while he awaited Iris's arrival, as she was going through with meeting her right here in the house she is living in with her husband and daughter until Henry comes back with Barbara. Seeing her mother, she was almost on pins and needles not knowing what to expect. The past couple of days Gwen called Jack to give her Gwen's number so she could call her and invite her to the house so they could speak. Will, who was upstairs in the bedroom changing into what he was wearing for today, was all for it but when she arrived he was going to be watching and listening to what Iris says when she speaks to her daughter. Will, the husband and the man of the household didn't like Iris, even when Gwen was pregnant and her behavior towards her, even the child that Will and Gwen thought it was hers, the one she thought she had with Casey Hughes, and rightfully so. Gwen knew Will was going to behave and hopefully so will Iris because the last thing she needs is stress before the two of them leave with Hallie and go to the Hughes 4th Of July celebration. Hearing the doorbell ring, Gwen took a deep breath and walked up to the door so she could open it.

Gwen - "Here we go...you can do this Gwen"

Gwen opens the door and sees her mother, Iris immediately hugs her daughter as the mad woman smiles like she hasn't seen her daughter in such a long time. Gwen immediately felt awkward but decided to let it slide.

Iris - "There's my little girl, finally after what seems like years we finally get to meet"

Gwen - "Didn't we meet a couple weeks ago when you ambushed me at the park?"

Iris - "I wanted to surprise you and say hello Gwen, that's all, and boy you have a comfy place around here for sure"

Walking past Gwen, Iris looks around the house as Gwen sighed and closed the door behind her. Iris couldn't believe her daughter had a home like this but it was almost too good to be true at the same time. Her daughter wasn't upper class at all, maybe it had to do with that Will Munson fellow.

Gwen - "This isn't our home mom, Barbara and Henry are letting us stay in their home for the time being until-"

Iris - "Until that wimp of a man comes back home with a broken down Barbara Ryan? And before you ask, I heard what happened...too bad I guess. I'm surprised they would let you use their home to stay before not using."

Gwen cringed and sighed, glad that Will was not here to listen to any of that. She's already come in here and made remarks that were not nice and were not cool at all to start things off. But Gwen reminded herself to not throw her out yet.

Gwen - "Let's go to the living room to talk"

Iris - "Sounds fine to me"

Following Gwen to the living room, Iris finds the nearest seat and sits down, putting her bag in her lap. Gwen sits down on the couch and folds her hands, watching Iris just sit back with two of her fingers on her chin, wondering what her daughter was going to say.

Gwen - "Thanks for coming mom, I know you have your doubts coming here to talk with me"

Iris - "I know why you called me, so that we can talk and spend time together as mother and daughter, like it always should be"

Gwen - "Well...kind of but we can't spend time today"

Iris - "What do you mean?"

Gwen - "Mom...I know the stuff you did back then before Will and I left, as it was wrong of you to do that to Carly and Barbara regardless of the reason. The other crimes you committed were not right either too"

Iris - "Is this going to be a lecture? Don't try to judge me okay? You're not innocent either"

Gwen - "At least I didn't kidnap people and committed different sets of crimes mother. You surprising me to the park was not right for you to do"
