Different from the rest

chapter 12

After Tenma had packed all of his stuff and put it in the back of his brother's car, they said a final goodbye in union to the parents and drove back to their house, the family was left standing at their gate. Shindou was about to turn and go back inside until a voice stopped him from doing so

"If you didn't want him to leave, you could've just said so." He turned his head to his father with a hard blush and saw that both his mother and father had the same unexplainable gaze in their eyes, in a way half amused and half proud

"Wha-what are you t-talking about dad...?" He tried his best to cover it up, but his stuttering and blush gave it all away, the two adults snickered a little before the mother said

"Don't try to pretend you don't know, honey. We can see that you are crazy in love with that boy."

"Because we've had our own fair share of falling in love." Said the father, wrapping an arm around his wife's shoulder. Shindou looked up and slightly smiled at them before that smile dropped

"But what can I do...? He was only here to fulfill his duty, what reason did I have to keep him here...?" Shindou was 100% convinced with those words, until his mother said something to him

"You could confess to him." The captain blushed 50 shades of red before turning his head to his mother, who was smiling in amusement along with his father

"I'll think about it..." Muttered the game maker while trying to hide his face from view. His parents snickered a little before they all called it a drill and went back inside.

3 days later

It's been 3 days since that whole killing ordeal was over, and Shindou has not confessed yet. Even though he was a confident captain, he was way too shy when it came to Tenma, his parents have been bugging him  nonstop for him to confess, not to mention Kirino has also gotten involved into this - of course, being his best friend he's gonna find out -. The rest of the teammates, except Tenma are also aware of Shindou's crush on the brunet, at first they were quite surprised about it but they accepted it very easily, though there was still one question remaining

'What are Tenma's feelings for Shindou?'

Considering that the brunet is quite unreadable and has very good poker face, they can't tell what his feelings are and for Shindou, that was the absolute worst. Not knowing if the other loves you or not, is basically torture for him, he's still determined to confess to the brunet, but he doesn't have the stupid courage to do it!

The next day

Shindou was in his class, not paying the slightest attention to it, why? Because all of his attention was captivated by the brunet who was scribbling behind Kirino,and quite frankly, he was a little jealous, he also wanted to be that close to Tenma during class, but unfortunately he wasn't, luckily the one who was in front of him was his best friend and not some other student in the class.

After practice

While the team were almost done changing, two men came in, dressed elegantly and kind of superior looking, in a way

"Who are you?" Asked coach Endou, the men simply gave him what seemed like a card, probably with their names, identity and whatnot on them. Coach Endou had a guarded face on him, very unusual coming from the lively adult "What do you want?"
