"I'm so happy to have you two over. It's so difficult now with your busy schedules ," Eunji's mother said gleefully. She especially smiled at the handsome young boy seated beside her daughter.

Today Eunji and Jungkook were invited to have dinner at her parent's house. To be honest, Eunji didn't want to go in the beginning. But Jungkook was excited about it, how could she say no?

"Thank you for inviting us, Mrs. Kim," Jungkook bowed his head respectfully. Eunji silently nodded alongside him.

Mrs. Kim grinned, "Please, eat. I already packed extra side dishes for you two to take home."

"Thank you, Eomma," Eunji forced herself to smile across the table at her mother. "We will eat well."

Soon, everyone at the table dug into the meal. Eunji could barely eat, and just poked her chopsticks in her rice bowl. Jungkook noticed this and took a piece of meat and placed it in her bowl, not thinking much of it.

"You should eat, Jagi. You love pork," he said softly, in a way that temporarily distracted Eunji from her train of thoughts.

Her mom then added some kimchi into her daughter's bowl, "Yes, listen to your boyfriend. You need to eat a lot so you have energy for your job."

Eunji nodded obediently, "Arrasso."

Eunji didn't want to worry her family or Jungkook so she grabbed the piece of meat with her chopsticks and put it into her mouth. Her silence resumed quickly after.

To tell the truth, Eunji wasn't feeling too great today. She was usually someone who was so positive and optimistic. But the week had really worn her down. At work, her supervisor and coworkers took advantage of her as a new intern. All week they had her run all around the building, completing multiple tasks. If she made the slightest mistake, her supervisor would lash out at her. She was exhausted and on top of that, Eunji's phone had been blowing up all week with hate comments.

After dating for two years now, Jungkook and Eunji agreed to come out about their relationship. Many fans were supportive, but many started targeting Eunji and harassed her behind Jungkook's back. Eunji didn't say anything about her stressful situation to Jungkook, knowing that he dealt with his own stress at work.

Now her mom wanted to have her over for dinner with Jungkook. Eunji wouldn't have hated the idea so much, if it wasn't for  how unusually awkward tonight felt. Her father who was sitting at the end of the table hadn't spoken at all.

"Eunji-yah, how are things with your new job?" Mrs. Kim asked, distracting Eunji from her thoughts. She hadn't realized that she had been spacing out.

"Things are going well," Eunji lied. "The company treats me well."

"Good. That's good," Her mom nodded happily. She then looked over to her husband who was eating quietly.

"I'm glad that we're all here to spend time together," Mrs. Kim added. "Your father barely comes home anymore. I'm surprised he even came tonight."

Mr. Kim dropped his utensils on the table, "Do you have to always get on my case on every little thing? I'm busy working while you just stay home being a lazy b****!"

Eunji mentally sighed to herself, knowing that this would happen. Her parents always argued, especially now that she moved out. She hated it, especially when they argued in front of her. Jungkook being the sweetheart he was, held her hand underneath the table. But this only made her feel worse, Jungkook didn't deserve to see this.

"Well if you would just be considerate of your family then-" Mrs. Kim began, trying to hold in her patience.

"Aish there you go again!" Mr. Kim snapped. Eunji almost flinched at the sudden volume change in his voice. "You're always trying to correct everything I do, why don't you just mind your own business?"

"I'm your wife for goodness sake! All I do is cook and clean the house while you go stay out late drinking!" Mrs. Kim barked back.
