"Sy-bon?" The bill collector asked with little interest. It was her sixteenth call of the day. She'd heard it all; I lost my job, my wife left me, I just need more time, blah, blah, blah... She snaped a hole in her gum and went through the usual rituals. "What?"
"I said," the girl repeated. "It's Siobhan; pronounced 'Shiv-an'. It's Irish."
"Yeah, yeah," the caller replied. "Can you make a payment on your medical bill this month or not?"
Flopping onto the nearest lounge chair, Siobhan sighed. She took out her wallet and retrieved her Visa, touching the babyfine hair that was only now growing back.
"Alright," Siobhan replied. There goes those new shoes she'd been eyeballing. "The numbers on my card are..."
