Bucky's POV
I said" Why are we doing this?"
Steve said" Because she needs clothes that actually fit her, not just your hoodies and socks."
" What if she gets scared?"
" We're right there with her."
" I don't like this idea."
" It'll be fine." I tapped my foot, looking at the changing rooms, finally Natasha came out with Star. Star tugged at my jacket, I lifted her up, her arms wrapped around my neck, she nuzzled her face too.
Natasha said" Your turn."
" What did you do?"
" Tried to put her hair up."
" Buck, your turn." I sighed then carried her back into the changing room. I sat her down,
I said" Okay, Star, we're gonna try on a few more outfits, okay?" She nodded her head, I helped her change out of the clothes she was wearing, and into new clothes...

We finally gave up clothes shopping once Star started getting bored, but now she had an entire closet full of clothes. Star tugged at my sleeve, trying to get to my metal arm,
I said" Star, shh, it's okay, I'm still Bucky." I think she found comfort in knowing she can identify me easily, I sighed as she whined.
She whined" Arm, arm, arm." Her hand slipped up my sleeve and she calmed down once she could feel the metal.
" See, still Bucky, it's okay." She held onto my arm as we continued walking, after a few minutes, I noticed she wasn't next to me. I looked behind me and saw she'd froze at a toy store, her eyes darting to all the bright colors from inside. I walked to her, Natasha and Steve joined us,
Steve said" Wanna go in there, Star?" She just nodded," Okay, let's go in there then." Star held onto my arm as I led her inside, she started looking at all the toys.
She said" Toy?" I saw there was a similar looking toy to her toy, I smiled as her eyes lit up." Toy, Wucky. Toy." She held up her Toy to me and pointed to the other toys, she doesn't understand that toy is an object, not a name.
I said" Yeah, these are all toys, you play with them. Your Toy is a toy." She tilted her head,
" Toy is toy?"
" Yeah, a stuffed animal toy." She gave me a confused look, then held onto Toy tighter.
" My Toy." She doesn't understand, and I don't know to explain it any better right now.
" Yeah, your Toy." She got distracted by a rainbow, she stared at it, her mouth gaped slightly." How about you find some stuff to play with, huh? Toy needs friends." She smiled, nodding her head, okay, she seemed to understand that a little. Then she dropped Toy, I rushed over to her, she was breathing heavily." Shh, shh, it's okay, Toy's okay." I picked Toy back up, she calmed down," How about Bucky keeps Toy for right now? To protect Toy?" She relaxed at the thought of me protecting her Toy, she nodded, I sighed and held it with one hand. She continued to look at all the toys around, more interested in the stuff she could physically play with, like pretend toys.

Once we got back to the tower, I was holding Star with one arm while helping Steve with the bags with the other.
Stark said" What did you do, buy the whole mall?"
Natasha said" She needs more than 3 outfits, Tony. She's a child."
" Did she go crazy?"
Steve said" No, she stared at a rainbow in shock for about 3 minutes, she spit out pretzels, and she loved soft serve ice cream with rainbow sprinkles because she wanted to eat a rainbow."
Natasha said" And now she's tuckered out because it was a long day. She's a little girl, Tony, not a big bad monster."

I was watching Star play with Toy and a doll she wanted, she was babbling, I could barely hear her. Steve sat next to me,
He said" What's she doing?"
I said" Playing."
" She's adjusting, huh?"
" Yeah, I guess." Then Wanda walked into the room, Steve got up and hugged her. Star noticed a new person and ran to me, scurrying onto my lap and hiding her face." It's okay, Star, shh, it's okay." A storm started outside, I wrapped my arms around her, rocking her. She calmed down, the storm stopped,
Wanda said" Is that the little girl Tony was fussing about?"
Steve said" Yeah. Bucky, she okay?" Star laid her chin on my chest to look at me,
I said" She's okay, right, Star?" Star nodded her head, she yawned and nuzzled her face against my chest. I rubbed her back," Hi, Star."
She mumbled" Hi, Wucky." She put her hands on my face, tracing it, I smiled, she giggled. I chuckled, I caught her before she fell back, she giggled again." Me wants Toy!" She rolled off me and ran to Toy, she grabbed Toy and the doll. She shyly walked up to Steve and Wanda, she held up the doll to Steve.
He said" Hi, Star." She dropped the toys and made grabby hands, Steve picked her up.
Wanda said" Hi, Star, I'm Wanda." Star waved, I turned on the tv, Star looked at it, mouth gaping at the colors. She made grabby hands to the tv, squirming in Steve's arms, Steve put her down next to me. She crawled to the tv, staring up at it, I smiled and watched her. She squeaked as the characters moved and talked, then giggled.
After the show was over, Star walked to me and laid on my chest, I smiled as she nuzzled my metal arm before settling.
Wanda said" How does Tony see a monster in her?"
Steve said" She is dangerous, but we all are. We have control, she hasn't figured that out yet. But she will, we'll help her." Bruce walked in,
He said" Is Star awake?" Star poked her head up," There she is!" She giggled, she climbed off me and jumped into his arms." We're gonna play, okay? See this ball?" Star nodded, he handed her the ball," We are gonna play catch." He put her down, and took a few steps away from her." Now, throw it but not with your hands." Star lifted the ball into the air and threw it to him," Such a good job, Star." He threw it, she caught it mid air and giggled as it spun around her, she sat down and it dropped onto the ground. She started chasing it as it rolled away, I looked away from a few seconds then I heard her crying. I ran to her, lifting her up, a storm started outside, I rocked her gently in my arms.
I whispered" Shh, shh, shh, it's okay, Star, shh, it's okay." She calmed down, nuzzling her face into my neck, she dozed off. I kissed her head and sat back down, holding her in my arms, rocking her, gently.
