Chapter 18

Katara's POV

The ship started to sail once again, I was up on the deck looking at the water, I feel as if the water is calling for me.... how strange..
Iroh tapped me on the shoulder and said "hello, can I talk with you for a moment?"
I looked around for Zuko, remembering how he said that if possible don't be alone with his uncle.

Iroh interrupts my thoughts as he says "You won't find him here, I asked him to make some tea, so it'll take a while, can we talk?" I nod cautiously
He turn to the water and asks bluntly "are you here by force?"
I look at him in surprise, I know Zuko said that his uncle might ask that, but I never thought his uncle would be so straightforward with that question.
"No, it's nothing like that! I don't quite remember how I met Zuko or ended up with him... but after everything he told me and the time I've spent with him...... I don't know.. he just doesn't seem like a bad guy...." I said nervously

Iroh looked at me with a smile and said "you're right, he really isn't a bad boy, he is just trying to get home again.... and there fore on the wrong path... but he will learn and change, if fate allows -" I interrupted "But he isn't on the wrong paths!" I yelled as I turned my whole body facing him "the Avatar is evil ! And he even though his plans seems good, he'll end up killing us all! So Zuko have to capture him and make the world right! " I continued as Iroh looked at me in shock
Iroh held my arms with his hands and said "you're saying the avatar is bad? How can you say that? You're his friend, aren't you?"

I saw Zuko coming out in the deck with a tray of tea, I pushed Iroh's hands off and yelled "the avatar left me! Zuko was the only one who helped me! I don't remember anything about my so-called avatar friend but if he really was a friend and I was in danger being here, wouldn't he come and got already?"
I ran over to Zuko and hugged him so he dropped the tray with the tea "I believe in Zuko! Nothing can change my mind!" I yelled as a confused Zuko tried to calm me down

"Uncle ? What's the meaning of this?" Zuko asked as he calmed me down
"Care to explain what this was about?" He said in anger with a hint of sadness "uncle.. you don't believe in me? You also think it's impossible to get my honor back don't you!" Zuko said in a raised voice
"Now now, you came in the middle of the conversation, you can't just take a few words out of context. Zuko of course I believe in you! I'm your uncle, I've been with you ever since you got banished, I was only making sure the girl wasn't trying to hurt you and she seems to really believe in you ~ and I'm really glad that she is, as she seems important to you. But if you'd rather have me leave, I'll leave now" Iroh said as he turned around.
Zuko quickly said "no uncle, don't leave! of course it's like that, you've been with me all this time.. I'm sorry for raising my voice just now, I didn't mean it like that... please forgive me"

Iroh turned around with a big smile "of course I forgive you nephew. Ahh so it seems you two are quite close now eh"
"What do you mea-" I said just before realizing I'm still hugging zuko, I quickly push myself off and apologizing to Zuko for holding him.
Iroh started laughing
