Jaxson

Shawn and Ana come by after Bella gets out of school. "So let me get this right, they're letting him out when he has an attempt of murder charge?" Ana asks me.

"Yup!" "Americas system is completely broken." She says shaking her head. "Do you think his family could do the same thing with the trial?" Shawn asks me.

Both Ava and I are caught off guard. "They can't do that." I simply answer even though I'm
not sure.

I can't have Ava worrying about whether she'll ever have to face him again. She needs to focus on getting out of here.

My phone starts ringing and I excuse myself. "Hey Matthew, what's up?" I ask my lawyer. "I need you to come in tomorrow. We have a lot
of discussing to do."

"Okay, I'll see you tomorrow." I tell him. He ends the call and I instantly turn to our guards. "How come both of you are here?"

"We just want to make sure she's extra protected." Daniel answers for the both of them. I'm grateful for these guys.

"I need some more of you. I'm going to need some downstairs at the entrance and someone guarding the elevator."

Tony nods and pulls his phone out. "We can make that happen." He tells me. "Good, I appreciate you two." I tell them and they nod.

"We respect the effort you're putting in to make sure she's safe. A lot of our clients only hire us for show."

"Really? That's awful!" My father told me never to lose myself in our wealth. He taught me that wealth and reality have nothing in common.

At the end of day my money means nothing to me. My family and legacy is far more important. I lost touch of that when I moved to Europe.

"It is, but we got you man. We'll have some more people here within the next hour." Daniel tells me as Tony talks on the phone.

I thank them before going back in to be with everyone. "He's so beautiful." Ana says holding her nephew.

"I hope he doesn't have Avas attitude." Shawn says standing behind her. Ava didn't even hear his insult due to her tickling our daughter.

Seeing the two of them together makes me happy. Ava and Bella need each other to be whole. There's no mother daughter relationship stronger than theirs.

"Mommy, when you go home Avery go home too?" Bella asks her. She nods "yeah, we won't leave him here." She tells her.

"Avery doesn't have a room. He can have mine." She tells her mom and we both smile. "We have to clean out one of the guest rooms for him."

I haven't even thought about his nursery. Bellas room is pink and full of room decorations, it's like an interior designer designed her room.

"It might have to wait until you're back home, I'm terrible at decorating." I tell Ava. "Ana can do it." Shawn cuts in.

"It's true, I was an interior designer before my career started." She says still smiling at Avery. "You guys have really gotten to know each other well." Ava points out and I agree.

"It's just small talk." Ana says and Shawn smirks from behind her. He's so bad at trying to hide things.

Ava and I share a look letting each other know that we both see right through their lies. If they want to have fun, who are we to judge them.

"Can you decorate his nursery? We'll pay!" Ava tells her sister. "Of course, I'll do it for free." "You guys can pay me to help." Shawn cuts in.

"Shawn, you can't decorate a nursery with white and gray furniture." Ava tells him and I laugh.

Shawns entire home is decorated with white and grey furniture. "My house looks good." He says defending himself.

"Sure." I tell him. "Ana, my house looks good right?" She laughs and says "I like it." "At least one of you has taste."

They leave after a few hours and take Bella with them. Ana got a call from her new apartment complex telling her it was ready.

"I hope they don't end up hurting each other." Ava says leaving me confused. "What?" I ask her while struggling to change Averys diaper.

She laughs at me before walking over to help me. "Shawn and Ana." I'd be lying if I said I wasn't thinking the same thing.

Shawn's a player, that's just who he is. He'd never intentionally hurt anyone's feelings though.

"He would never engage in anything with anyone without warning them first." I tell her.
"What if she hurts him?" I shrug as I watch her place the small diaper on Avery.

"They're adults, we can't do anything but trust that they can handle themselves." "I guess you're right." She tells me.

"I'm always right." I tell her. She laughs and picks up our son. "Dr. Elliot said his temperature dropped." She tells me and I smile.

"He's going to be out of here in no time." I tell her. "Jaxson we need to speak to you." Tony says stepping in.

Suddenly I'm worried.  I give Ava one more smile before stepping out. "What's up?" I ask him.

"This is Axel and Frank, they'll be switching out with us for shifts. Either Tony or I will be with one of them." Daniel says introducing me to the first set of men.

I nod and he continues. "Porter and John will be guarding the elevator, they'll switch out every twelve hours like us."

"Andrew and Gabe will be in the hospital lobby keeping a look out." I introduce myself to each of the men and thank them.

It has to be hard staying still for half a day straight just to protect a total stranger. Tony explains to them all the situation and send them each a picture of Milo.

I'm thankful he's the only person they have to keep a look out for. Once everyone takes their place I go back in with Ava.

She's already laying down in her bed. "What happened?" She asks me. "They just wanted some updated pictures of Milo. I told you, you have nothing to worry about."

I really don't want her to ever have to worry or fear about anything, especially if it involves Milo.  "What about all those people?"

I forgot to pull the curtain back. "They're guards who might start to switch out with Tony and Daniel." "Okay." She says letting that be the end of the conversation.

I choose to stay another night here with her. I feel so nervous I ask the nurses to let Avery stay in here tonight just so I know they're both safe, while Bella is with Shawn.
