Chapter One: Love at First Sight
Even amongst the congested traffic and bustling public transport, life in the capital city wasn’t only about chaos. There were some people who managed to escape the circle of a busy life. One of those people was a young man in his late twenties with a passion for writing, who was able to create his own quiet zone even in a small coffee shop opposite his condominium. Though where he lived wasn’t located in the heart of the city, there were many nearby universities and office buildings that made it busy from time to time. Nonetheless, even this could not destroy the private zone that he had created for himself.

Rashane Katatorn was a talented writer well known in the literature industry. He was not only popular for his handsome mixed-race features, but the way he wrote also enchanted all the readers to fall for him. This writer was an introvert and did not enjoy socializing. He also did not care about all the fame he had gained. He just loved to write and wanted to convey everything onto the paper.

Rashane’s daily life typically revolved around his room and the Le Petit Café, a coffee shop opposite his condo. He dedicated most of his time to writing. While most people prefer to use laptops, iPad, or tablets to work, this young man still carried his notebook and pen into his usual corner in the cafe to write various stories before typing them down on his laptop. This meticulous work might seem ridiculous to some, but to Rashane, he felt like pouring his heart onto a page with every stroke of his pen.

Today was just another day in the tall man’s routine of crossing the street to his favorite coffee shop. As always, his slender fingers gripped his beloved stationery. He tended to avoid the crowds by going in the late hours of the morning before the shop got too busy with customers from nearby offices on their lunch break. After ordering his usual coffee at the counter, he then went to his favorite corner which was designed to include a bookshelf. Though it was quite private and secluded from the rest of the shop, it was located next to the glass wall of the café which made the small area feel spacious and open. The window’s clear view of the outside world made for a perfect sight to rest his eyes. But only for a moment, as almost always, he was occupied pouring his soul into his work.

When the time was right, Rashane would leave the cafe and return to his condo across the street. He rode the elevator to the twelfth floor and made his way to the room at the end of the hall. This condominium was built similarly to a foreign apartment complex. There were only a few rooms on that floor, each varied in size and design. The young writer’s room was a one-bedroom apartment with a separate living room and kitchen of the same proportion. He purchased this apartment a little over a year ago after deciding to reside in Thailand.

Rashane had been living abroad almost all his life and had traveled a lot during summer which was a great life experience for him. Because he was passionate about writing, he had always been writing the travel diary from his journey and memories. It could very well be considered the starting point of his authorhood. He loved to write from his own life experience with the correct information rather than creating baseless stories. He got more opportunities to travel the world after graduating. For someone as artistic as him, he chose to write novels from the knowledge of his own life. And with no expectations, his novels became immensely popular since he still lived abroad.

Since he was an introvert, he did not have a lot of close friends, and because he lived abroad since childhood, the young writer did not have any relatives in Thailand. There were only his parents who were introverted but also loved traveling just like him. They bought a house in a quiet area on the island in southern Thailand just so they could have their privacy. Therefore, Rashane would travel to visit them from time to time.

After making his lunch at his place, Rashane went to sit on the balcony. He watched the streets bustling with people and cars until his gaze finally fell upon his usual coffee shop. The next day, he must attend a meeting with the editorial office in the late hours of the morning, his usual time to visit the cafe. For this reason, he planned to go there in the evening instead, a time in which he had never been to the cafe before.

What he didn’t know was that... this insignificant change of the routine, would change his everyday life, and it would never be the same again…
