Chapter 9

"Remind me why we haven't dealt with him yet" Lilith asks as all of the werewolves stare at the witches across the bar who were celebrating something they had just done. And thanks to the ringing in their ears earlier it wasn't hard for Octavia and Randall to guess it was bad and had to do with magic

"Because we have been running all over town like idiots trying to track down whoever is doing all of this magic" Hamish says with annoyance in his tone as he leaned back into the booth seats that weren't really that comfortable

"Ten bucks says it's some frost testing out their first set of tarot cards" Randall says to them and Octavia gets a playful grin on her face

"I'm in. Ten bucks says it's those three idiots over there using a spell they learnt that lets them get what they want" Octavia grins jokingly because Hamish and lilith still didn't know about him being in the order

"What gave you that idea Tav" Randall asks her and then looks over at the three new recruits for the blue rose

"Come on have you not noticed that they are wearing nicer clothes than usual" Octavia says as if if were the most obvious thing in the world "and besides. Who usually wins the bets in our house"

The rest of the werewolves sigh and look at Octavia who had a large grin on her face as they all say the same thing "you"

"Exactly. So you might as well pay up now handsome" Octavia says and sticks her hand out but he shakes his head

"Uh uh no way. We don't know if your right yet" Randall says and then adds "beautiful"

Octavia rolls her eyes and pouts "fine"

Randall gets out of the booth

"I can't remember it ever being this bad" Lilith says and glares over at the witches

"You're kidding right? Every year the new order recruits get a taste and start using magic on themselves" Hamish says to Lilith

"Hamish is right" Octavia says and takes a sip out of her vanilla milkshake and smiling at Randall as he finally came back with some sauce

"Octavia is right. It's him. Look at him. Yesterday he was thrift store chic and today he is mr fancy pants" Lilith says as they watch jack get up from the table and walk out of the bar

"Maybe he had got to do laundry" Randall says as he tries to come up with an excuse to defend jack and he looks over at his girlfriend for her but she just shrugs her shoulders and continues to sip happily on her vanilla thick shake

"No they are right. Those pants are fairly fancy" Hamish says as he watched him walk out and began to eye the boys pants

"But how is a townie doing magic" Lilith says in confusion

Randall looks up at Octavia who just raises her hands in the air and shakes her head and Randall lets out a sigh "Uhh yeah We probably should have told you this before but... jack is in the order"

Lilith and Hamish look at them angrily at the words that had just left Randall's mouth

"Shut the fuck up" Lilith says angrily "so Octavia wasn't lying when she said it was probably the three of them"

"So he is in the hermetic order of the blue rose. That doesn't make him a bad guy" Randall says but Octavia didn't totally agree with that due to the fact that the order was their enemies but she wanted to give the boy a chance so she did

"They are our sworn enemies" Lilith says angrily as she glares daggers at Randall and Hamish just sits still and quiet as he watches the whole argument unfold in front of him

"Which is why having an inside man is going to be fantastic" Randall says

"Randall is right. I think it could benefit us and he's a cool guy I mean he like Star Wars" Octavia says with a grin

"Just because someone likes the same movies as you doesn't automatically make them a good guy Tavi" Lilith says as she glares at the girl

"It kinda does" Octavia mumbles out and looks down at her thick shake like it suddenly became the most interesting thing in the world

"Besides we don't know if he is doing the magic or not" Randall explains to them and tries to get them on his side about it and he looks to Hamish for help since it was obvious Octavia didn't know which side she was on for the matter but she was obviously on both

"We'll get confirmation" Hamish says with a sigh

"What do we are magic cops now" Lilith asks in annoyance as she leans forward on the table

"Now?" Ella asks and then her and Hamish both say "we have always been magic cops"

Lilith grabs her beer off of the table and takes a sip while looking out the window and muttering "fair"

"Theres only one way to find out if he is the one doing magic or not" Octavia sighs and finishes off her milkshake and goes to stand up

"Follow him and then kill him as soon as we hear him speaking weird ass words" Lilith says and stands up too ready to go

"No we go to his room and see if we can find anything weird or that is related to magic" Octavia says "though your idea is kinda exciting"

"No. We're going to use your idea. Let's go" Randall says and then all of the werewolves walk out of the bar and make their way over to the dorms so that they could observe jacks room for anything suspicious
