Chapter 58

Chaeyoung was taken to the place where her family was kept. The place was located at Northern part of the country which can be reached just by car.

It took Chaeyoung ten hours to reach the place.

She opened the car window slowly and smelled the sweet fresh air. It was a beautiful province where there was abundant greenery with lots of trees. This place was gifted with natural beauty.

When she finally reached her destination and stepped out of the car, she couldn't help her tears from flowing as she saw her family standing outside the house waiting for her arrival.

"What happened? Why are you all standing outside?" Chaeyoung asked. Her voice choking with emotions and eyes filled with tears.

"Lina called and said you have almost reached here and Jinhee wanted to wait for you outside." Her mom embraced her and said then frowned when saw her daughter crying.

"Big sis", shouted Jinhee and opened her arms wide to be carried by Chaeyoung. "Why are you crying sis?" Asked Jinhee when she saw tears in her eyes.

"Your Big Sis is too happy to see you all. These are the tears of joy. Come here; let's see if you have gained more weight." She smiled and said as she lifted and carried her little sister in her arms.

Inside the house, Chaeyoung's father spoke, "Hon, you take Jinhee to rest in her room. I want to talk to Chaeyoung alone."

Her mom nodded and picked up Jinhee from Chaeyoung's lap and left quietly.

"Daughter, what's going on? Why are we here? The woman named Lina told me you had an agreement with their company." Her father asked while confusion can be seen in his eyes.

He paused and then added, "And who was that man? Was he the Jeon Jungkook of ****** and one of the grandsons of Head Master Jeon of JJK Summit Holdings, Inc. Group of Companies?"

Chaeyoung sighed; there was no point in hiding anything from her father so she told him everything.

Her dad was an open-minded person and she doesn't hide anything from him and her mom except her relationship with Minho during college since her dad was against her being in a relationship while still studying.

Hearing all that Chaeyoung said her father felt very dejected and incapable of even protecting his family and daughter.

"I am sorry my child. It's all my fault, I should have protected you well." Her dad burst out crying.

His daughter had gone through so much because of his stupidity.

Chaeyoung hugged her dad tightly.

"It's not your fault dad. There are so many greedy and evil people in the world who can go to any lengths and care about no one to obtain their goal. Besides, don't you always say that everything happens for a reason so maybe there's a reason for whatever happened." She said as she patted her dad's back.

"Don't feel bad anymore; what is important is that we are all safe now. This place is much better for Jinhee's health too." Chaeyoung added as she comforted her dad.

"About the company, Lina has arranged everything you just need to sign the papers. I believe you don't need to keep the old one. Let's start all over again dad." Chaeyoung suggested.

Then she explained that the transfer of company was included in the contract. Park Corporation will be handed to Lina's group in exchange with a large sum of amount to help them start over again.

She heard her dad sigh and said, "Alright, let's do that and start anew here."

Chaeyoung looked around and noticed that the house was big enough for them; the size was the same as the Mansion they used to live in back in the City.

She went inside her new room and sat on the side of the bed. She couldn't stop her emotions from flooding in and cried helplessly, her heart was aching so much. She felt like there's dagger stabbing continuously in her heart.

She wanted to ask Jungkook to wait for her but she didn't have enough courage to do so. She was not that thick skinned to demand anything after what she had done to him.

She believed that if they were meant to be then somehow...

Chaeyoung shook her head on this thought, it was better not to expect anything at all. She raised her hand and looked at the diamond ring Jungkook gave her, she was still wearing it.

She intentionally did not return it to Jungkook because this was the only thing that will remind her how unworthy she was of his love, the only thing that will help her to keep her distance from him for ten months.

'Will you still feel the same after ten months?' She thought to herself as she stared at the diamond ring that was sparkling in her finger.

Ten months in hiding. Chaeyoung sighed. Will she ever see him again? Could she even face him if ever their paths crossed accidentally? So many 'what ifs' started running in her head.

She just hoped Jungkook would be fine but her heart was hurting inside thinking with the possibility of him hating her or worst was forgetting about her as time passed by.

Chaeyoung took out her new phone. 'What's the use of this?' she complained in her heart. Lina confiscated her old phone saying they need to contain it.

Chaeyoung sighed deeply. She was hopeful that the ten months' time will pass quickly without her realizing, and may be then she would try to find Jungkook, if circumstances permit.

Chen and Butler Omni stayed at Jungkook's apartment the whole night.

"Do you have a girlfriend?" Butler Omni suddenly asked.

Chen chuckled. They were both on the couch watching a reality show in the television.

"I am happy being alone so far," Chen answered in a jest as he drank his soda.

"Why? Are you afraid of experiencing pain?" Butler Omni asked.

Then he added, "Someone says that Love is the master key that unlocks the gates of happiness, of hatred, of jealousy, and most important of all, the gates of fear."

"Then there's another saying I remembered - it is better to travel than to arrive. The journey of love has been rather a lacerating, if well-worth-it, journey." Butler Omni continued.

Chen just scratched his head. Butler Omni's lines were too much for him to comment further.
