Keegan's POV
"Hello?" I say after I answer my phone.
"I'm mad at you." Alex says.
"For what?" I ask.
"You slept with Sydney." Alex says.
"Sydney Who?" I ask. "I don't remember sleeping with anybody named Sydney."
"Sydney Leroux."
"Oh Yeah...we did when she 20 years old in college and I was 21." I say. "Alex why does it matter who I slept with?"
"You slept with my friend."
"You slept with some of my friends too Alex." I say. "And don't say you didn't because I know you did."
"Well..."
"Alex there are a shit ton of things you can be mad at me about." I say. "But sleeping with someone before I even knew you existed isn't one of them."
I hang up the phone then let out a deep breath.
"You okay?" Christen asks.
"Alex's stupid pregnancy hormones are acting up and now she's mad at me." I say.
"Because you had sex with Sydney?" Ali asks.
"Yeah." I say. "It's fucking ridiculous for her to be mad about that. I had no idea Alex even existed when Sydney and I had sex."
"LET'S GO LADIES." Someone yells so everyone grabs their bags and gets on the bus.
Once on the bus I sit in silence as we ride to the pitch for training. When we get to training I get off the bus then I see a Make-A-Wish lady waiting for me.
Apparently a 5 year old little girl who's in remission from fighting Leukemia wants to meet me for her Make-A-Wish.
When Make-A-Wish approached me and asked if I'd grant the wish I think my exact words were "You're damn right I will."
"Hello." I say.
"Hi I'm Stacy." The Make-A-Wish lady says as we shake hands.
"Keegan." I say then the Make-A-Wish lady leads me over to a man, a woman, and a little girl.
"Keegan." Stacy says. "This Mark and Racheal Poole."
"Nice to meet you." I say and shake the married couple's hands.
"And this is Kayla." Stacy says so I squat down.
"Hi Kayla." I say and smile. "I'm Keegan."
"Hi." Kayla says.
"Would you like to help me get ready for practice?" I ask.
"Okay." Kayla says then I pick her up.
Once Kayla is securely in my arms I carry her over to the team.
"She's really pretty." Kayla says as we approach the group.
"Who's pretty?" I ask.
"Her." Kayla says as she points to Christen.
"She's very pretty." I say as we get to the group.
"You make a new friend Keegs?" Pinoe asks and I nod.
"Everyone, this is my friend Kayla." I say. "Kayla these are the girls."
"Hi." Kayla says and waves.
All of the team greet Kayla back then we sit on the bench and I get ready for training.
"So Kayla." Ali says. "Besides Keegan who's your favorite?"
"Her." Kayla says and points to Christen. "She's pretty."
"Aww." A few of the girls say as Christen blushes.
"We're ready ladies." Our new fitness coach says.
"I'll see you in a few minutes Kayla." I say.
Kayla nods then she hugs me before I head onto the field to train.
For the next hour or so we run through training then Vlatko decides to allow me to bring Kayla into our finishing drill.
"Hey Kayla." I say as I approach the little girl.
"Hi." Kayla says.
"You wanna come on the field with me?"
Kayla nods then the two of us head onto the field and join the girls in line.
When it's time for Kayla to shoot I grab a ball then place it close to the goal.
"Alright." I say. "I know Ash looks big right now, but I want you to kick the ball as hard as you can and let's see what happens.
Kayla nods before she kicks the ball as hard as she can then everyone watches as Kayla's shot hits the back of the net.
"YEAH KAYLA." Kelley says as the team swarm us.
The team and I celebrate Kayla's goal then Vlatko calls training to let us have some fun with Kayla.
For the next hour the team and I make sure Kayla forgets all about her leukemia and just has fun being a kid.
When it's time for us to leave I walk Kayla back over to her parents.
"Are you coming to the game tomorrow Kayla?" I ask.
"I think so." Kayla says as we get to her parents and the Make-A-Wish lady.
"They're coming to the game tomorrow right?" I ask.
"They are." The Make-A-Wish lady says.
"Awesome." I say as I pass a tired Kayla to her parents. "I'll see you tomorrow Kayla."
Kayla smiles at me then she waves before she falls asleep.
"Thank you." Kayla's dad says.
"Of course." I say. "I'm happy I could help her forget about everything."
Kayla's parents hug me then they and the Make-A-Wish lady leave so I head to the bench and change out of my shoes before I get on the bus.
Once on the bus I relax for the whole ride back to the hotel then, once at the hotel, I get off the bus and head up to my room.
When I get into my room my phone rings so I pick it up.
"Hello?"
"You hung up on me." Alex says.
"What do you want me to do Alex?" I question. "Do you want me to make a list of everyone I've had sex with and show it to you?"
"No." Alex says. "You don't need to do that."
Alex sighs then I hear her start crying.
"Al?" I question. "Alex please don't cry."
"I'm s-s-s-sorry." Alex says as she she cries.
"For what?" I ask.
"These stupid pregnancy hormones." Alex says making me sigh.
"Alex it's okay." I say. "Just please talk to me about theses things next time okay?"
"Okay." Alex mumbles.
"Thank you." I say.
"I saw you had a Make-A-Wish today." Hope says.
"Hi Hope." I say.
"Hi."
"But yeah." I say. "I did."
"How was it?"
"It was good." I say and smile at the thought of Kayla. "It was really good."
