Keegan's POV
"Fuck that dude." I say as I read the newly released statement form Carlos Cordeiro as we walk through to the stadium in Frisco.
When I get to the locker room I head to my locker then take off my necklaces and earrings before I start to change. I then change into my warm up shirt, game shorts, my socks and my gold and blue boots.
"Do we have to wear this?" I ask and point to our warm up shirts after i've put my shorts, socks, and boots on.
"Yeah." Becky says.
"Fuck's sake." I mumble as I look at the US Soccer Crest. "Nah fuck this."
I grab the warm up shirt, turn it inside out, then I put it on.
"Well then." Pinoe says then she does the same thing as I put my hair up in a ponytail.
Eventually everyone follows suit and turns their shirt inside out then we all head out onto the pitch to warm up
When I get on the pitch I run through my warm ups with the starters for a while then head back to the locker room.
Once in the locker room I change out of the training top and change into my Blue jersey.
After I'm dressed I slide the captains armband around my arm then I wait in my locker until we're told to head out to the tunnel.
Eventually we're told to head to the tunnel so everyone does their last minute things before we leave the locker room then the starters and I head to the tunnel to get in line for the pre match shit. When we get to the tunnel I head to the front of our line then stand there until we're led onto the pitch.
"Hi Keegan." The little girl I'm escorting out says.
"Hey Kayla." I say with a smile then I pick the little girl up and rest her on my hip. "You ready to walk out with me?"
Kayla nods then the two of us talk while we wait.
Eventually we are lead onto the pitch and once on the pitch we stand for the anthems, shake hands with the Japanese and the refs, take a full 23 player photo, then I do the coin toss with Saki Kumagai.
After the coin toss I head back to the bench so we can do a team huddle.
After the team huddle is done I hug Kayla one last time then I head to the center circle and when I get there I stand on the center spot for five seconds.
After the five seconds are up I bow to the North stand, turn, bow to the East stand, turn, bow to the South stand, turn, then bow to the West stand which completes my pregame ritual.
Once my ritual is complete I walk to my position moments before Christen kicks off the game.
Three minutes after the game starts, Lindsey is fouled outside the box and she stays down after the foul for a little bit so we all stand around while Lindsey gets medical attention.
After Lindsey is helped off the field, the ref hands me the ball for the free kick so I set up my free kick then I wait for the whistle.
Once the ref blows her whistle I do my run up then I hit the ball up and over the wall into the back of the net putting us 1-0 up.
After the ball hits the net I hug my teammates then we head back upfield for the restart.
In the 26th minute of the game Japan get a goal kick, but when the Japanese keeper takes the kick, she hits the ball right to me. When the ball lands at my feet I look up and see my best friend wide open so I pass the ball to her. Once the ball gets to Christen, she takes a touch to get a ball out of her feet then she chips the ball over the Japanese Keeper making the score 2-0.
"You just love making people look silly." I say as I hug my friend.
"Can't let you have all the fun." Christen says with a smile as the team join our hug.
Once everyone hugs we head upfield for the restart.
For the rest of the time I'm on the field, myself, Christen, and Tobin pepper the Japanese goal with shots, but the keeper keeps all of them out which is annoying.
"Here ya go Jules." I say as I slip the captain's armband around my sister-in-law's arm in the 61st minute.
"Thanks Keegs." Julie says then I head towards the sideline.
When I get to the sideline I hug Mal then I head to the bench, sit down, and relax for the rest of the game.
When the game ends we wait around while the stage is set up then we get our medals. Once everyone has their medal, I get given the trophy then we lift trophy as confetti cannons go off. After we've lifted the trophy I take the trophy over to where Kayla is standing with her parents.
"Hey Kayla." I say
"Hi." The little girl says with a smile.
"Would you like to touch the trophy?" I ask.
Kayla nods so I set the trophy on the ground then I watch the little girl touch the trophy before we take pictures with it together.
After we've taken pictures I take my medal off then I place it around Kayla's neck
"I want you to have it." I say as Kayla looks at the medal.
"Really?" Kayla asks and I nod.
Kayla then hugs me so I hug back.
"Thank you." Kayla says.
"Of course." I say. "Your Mommy has my number so if you ever wanna talk then ask your Mommy okay?"
Kayla nods with a smile then she and I take more pictures before I hand Kayla my jersey. Kayla hugs me one more time then she and her parents leave to head back to their hotel.
After Kayla and her family leave I grab the trophy then take it back over to the team. Once the team have the trophy I head to the locker room, strip out of my kit, then take a shower
Once I'm back in the locker room after my shower, I put my clothes on then I grab my phone and FaceTime my soulmates.
"Hi Babygirl." I say as I look at Alex on FaceTime
"Hi Keegy." Alex sleepily says.
"You tired Princess?" I ask and Alex nods. "Get some sleep Lex. I'll call in the morning."
"I'm waiting for Hopey." Alex says then Hope gets in bed with Alex.
"Hi Keegs." Hope says with a smile.
"Hi beautiful." I say and smile at my girls.
"Hurry Back please." Hope says. "The bed doesn't feel complete with out you."
"I'll be back soon." I say. "I love you two."
"Love you too." Hope and Alex say in unison then they giggle.
"Get some sleep." I say. "I'll be home soon."
Hope and Alex nod then everyone hangs up.
"Keegs are you going to be at the next friendlies?" Christen says.
"No." I say. "The babies should be born any time around the Australia and Brazil game so I'm gonna be with my girls in Orlando."
"Are your kids going to be at the Olympics?" Julie asks.
"If we get picked then probably." I say.
"This bitch." Ash mumbles.
"Keegan you're gonna get picked." Sam says causing me to shrug.
"We'll see."
