The Candle (English Version)

35 15 5

As the darkness came from the skies,
And the quick cruel touch of the wind,
A candle, the only aid for darkness, my eyes it satisfies,
But soon its body melted, the light it served, simply dimmed.

My hands that are continuosly trembling,
My heartbeat faster as my ears heard a thing,
The voice of my mother as she panicked,
In desperate search of the wind for her to breathe.

Her face I couldn't seem to understand,
Her spouse, inside, he went to our home,
Forcedly, he grabbed my mother away and bruised her hand,
Her hot tears fell, as she's now out of sight inside that crooked door.

I went out as soon as the sun has risen,
And set my eyes on the small hole, that contains the untold darkness,
My mother whose body under the sunlight has gotten pale,
My soul shattered to pieces as soon as I saw her, lifeless.

Yay! Honestly this has been a challenge for me to translate this poem. I hope that I have come to find justice in this❤️
