If I act the way they'd like,
and pretend I'm not really me,
maybe it'll be worth it,
if everyone loves who I pretend to be.I don't want to do this,
since it's not the "cool thing" to do.
Maybe, if I believe it enough,
it will end up being true.I like the way I dress,
but this style isn't what's trending.
I guess I'll change to a current fashion,
or else the torment will be never-ending.And now, the biggest lie of all
is the one we always say.
After everything we go through, we say
"It's fine. I'm okay."The lies we tell ourselves
are so plentiful and filled with hate,
that by the time we realize the truth should prevail,
it's pretty much too late.
