kentarō's grip tightened on sumiye as he dragged her through the endless halls of the gym; he was holding like she would try to run away at the first opportunity. a dull pain emerged in the redhead's wrist.

eventually, he dragged her into an empty racquetball court. flipping on the lights, kentarō pivoted on his heel and cross his arms. "so you were ignoring me because of that guy? is he my replacement?" venom dripped from his words, sinking under sumiye's skin.

"kentarō," she started with a sigh. "he's just a friend." her digits were wringing out the bottom of her shirt, but sumiye forced herself to maintain eye contact with the man in front of her. she probably sounded like such a cliché, but the girl couldn't think of what else to say.

the blond scoffed at her defiance. "i've met your friends, and he wasn't one of them."

"we met at the beginning of the term! is it a crime to have friends?" sumiye's voice raised as she defended herself. anger and adrenalin was pumping through her veins; the redhead wouldn't go down without a fight.

"it is if you don't tell me about it! why wouldn't you want me to know about him, unless you were hiding something? "

kentarō lit the wick to make sumiye explode like a firecracker. "i tried to! how am i suppose to tell you about these things if all you do is talk about yourself?"

the blond dragged his hand down his face, weariness more noticeable on his features. after a closer inspection, sumiye noticed the deep purple bags under his eyes and his languid movements. "i know, i'm an asshole. i really don't deserve you."

the sudden ton shift left sumiye's head reeling. what made him believe that? in that moment, the guilt she had been feeling for the past couple of hours was now suffocating. "please, don't say that baby." her voice was now at a whisper, reflecting how small she felt.

"can we please just forget this fight?" kentarō begged– she half expected her boyfriend to get onto his knees.

taking a couple of steps closer, sumiye rested her hand on kentarō's cheek. hesitantly, the girl ran her thumb across his dull skin. "of course, baby. let's just forget this ever happened."

the thought of him losing sleep over this pointless argument made sumiye feel slightly better.
