You are like the light
That chased away my darkness.
You gave me hope
When I felt hopeless.
Just seeing the way you sparkle
Makes me so delighted.
But seeing you turn away
It leaves me restless.
I know many things about you,
there's still more I have to learn.
If you would just notice me once,
it would mean the whole world.
You caught my eye at once,
but I could never catch yours.
You are a star in the sky,
I'm just a star-gazer.
People around may see you
as just a star among the millions.
But for a star-gazer like me,
You're one star in a million.
So continue to value yourself precious
And shine bright among those millions
Cause you're a star with a mission
And I would love to see you in person.
But even if I cannot reach the sky,
I'll strive to catch your attention.
Even though I know it's too high,
I'll struggle to reach your presence.
And when I finally reach where you are,
Even though I know I'm not wanted,
I'll say,"Thanks for shining so bright
And holding my attention.
Thanks for being the beautiful star I've always wanted".
But if even then I do not
Gain your attention, no matter what,
I'll still continue to love you, yes, I will!
I'll treasure you from down here, so stay up still!
A star cannot dwell with men, that's for sure
But I'll wish for your happiness, and painfully let go.
I'll hold on to those memories I have of you
And continue to be your fan all my life through!
