Chapter 40

Five years later..

Aldred's POV

It's been five years since that day that changed my whole life, not just mine but also the people around us.

She's a big part of our life after everything and no matter what happened.

We're still thankful that she came kahit pa gano'n ang nangyari sa kaniya. She lights up our world and bring back the hope we lost.

Naputol ang pagdaloy ng alaala sa isip ko ng matanaw ko si Sydrael palabas ng gate ng school nila. Luminga-linga ito hanggang makita ang kotse kung nasaan ako.

He's eight years old now. Birthday nya, nila. I fetched him from his soccer training;

"Are we going to visit her?" He immediately asked upon seeing me putting the basket of flowers on the backseat. Personally arranged pa ang mga 'yon ni panget at pinitas pa nya mula sa garden nya.

Pagkakita pa lang ni Syd sa bulaklak ay  nahulaan na nya na may pupuntahan kami.

Naupo na sya sa passenger seat at ini-buckle ang seatbelt nya.

"Of course. After all, we should greet her." I smile as I look at him. Bahagya namang nalungkot ang mga mata nya.

"She's.. special. I should have known her better kung hindi lang..." And he cut his statement by a heavy sigh.

"I know, Syd. She's indeed very special. A Gem. That's why we're coming to her haven. Let's go?" Then I switch the key and start the engine.

"Sayang lang kasi kinuha sya sa atin agad di 'ba Dad? We're not able to properly bid our thanks and goodbyes at her."

"Yah, sadly."

I'm driving so my words are limited. Bakas ang kalungkutan sa mukha ni Sydrael, pero nandoon pa rin ang gratefulness na dumating "sya" sa buhay namin even if he didn't remember too much about her.

Besides, he's too young that time.

Long silence passed until we reached our destination. Napangiti ako ng mapait habang ipinaparada ang sasakyan.

"We're here Syd." I announced even unnecessary dahil ilang beses naman na syang nakarating dito.

"Yeah. We're here." And he nod twice.

We get out of the car and starts to walk already. I read the curvings on the upper part of the gate as we enter;

"Saint Mary's Angels Cemetery." I smile bitterly. That suits her. She's an angel.

Bago pa man kami makarating sa pupuntahan namin ay nakasalubong namin ang isang lalaking naging malaking parte na rin ng pamilya namin.

So, he visited her too?

Yssa's POV

Today is their bday. Medyo malungkot dahil naaalala ko na naman sya :/ She who was gone for five years already.

"Ateeee! Si Yldred oh! Ayaw tumigil  sa pag-iyak." Sigaw ni Eimee mula sa kusina.

Yes, me and my bestfriend had a new baby. Since that "day", after grieving because of the news,  hinimatay ako and then we got surprised by another news that I'm pregnant.

Noong una mahirap isipin kasi ang unexpected pero naging maayos naman ang lahat. He's four years old now.
"He" means lalaki sya. His name is Yldred.
