Colours in gray

29th July, 2020.

Love's fabric in its absolute form,
Unbeknownst to him, kept him warm,
Time and again they nudged his mind,
To seek the light, the warrior in the blind.

Lost in the shadow, with his head held low,
Incessant frown lines now defining the brow,
They gave him a reason to hold on and strive,
Constantly igniting good memories alive.

The drained energy, self destructive ways,
A baggage filled heart of the bygone days,
They urged him to kiss goodbye to the fears,
To ignore the voices and embrace the tears.

Like a lifeless trunk with broken boughs,
The trust in him, had closed its doors,
They stuck with him and made him see,
How the stars would align to set him free.

With a worn out heart, this petrified mind,
Completely numb with thoughts entwined,
They hugged his scars and help him steer,
Though lofty waves, expanding his frontier.

When the crimson clouds left him bereft,
And he buckled under this habitual heft,
They salvaged his soul from wandering away,
He felt colours brewing in life from gray.
