CHAPTER FOURTEEN

“Anton, where are we going ba?”

“Secret.” He winked at me.

He’s driving and I don’t know where we’re going. I kept on asking him where pero ang sagot niya sa’kin lagi ay secret.

I heaved out a deep sigh. Hindi ko na lang siya pipiliting sabihin sa’kin kung saan kami pupunta. Basta ang alam ko, ligtas ako kasama si Anton. Apat na oras na pala siyang nagmamaneho.

“I can drive if you’re sleepy.”

“No, mi bebé. Go rest, I’ll wake you up once we arrived in our destination.” Ayoko man pero tumango na lang ako. Medyo inaantok din ako dahil nga sa tahimik lang si Anton ngayon.

I slowly closed my eyes.

“Baby, wake up. We’re here na.”

“Five minutes...” I felt his lips on my forehead.

“I’ll carry you, let’s sleep.” I nodded.

Hindi ko alam kung makakatulog pa ako ulit.

Maya maya’y dahan dahan niya akong inilagay sa kama.

“Anton, I can’t sleep.” He chuckled while kissing my forehead. Ito ang bagay na gustong gusto ko na ginagawa sa ‘kin ni Anton.

I feel safe when he’s kissing my forehead. It’s like he’s reassuring me that everything’s going to be fine.

Just two days after our sudden engagement, Anton and I decided to go on a much needed vacation.

Yes, I have a company to manage and hindi ko dapat ‘yon iniiwan basta na lang but at the same time, kailangan ko ring maglaan ng oras para sa sarili ko at kay Anton.

I felt the cold air on my face, the sound of waves makes me calm.

I felt his arms on my waist.

“Anton.”

“Pumpkin,” He rested his head on my shoulder. “Të dua shumë, zemra ime.”

“Huh?” I don’t understand what he told me.

“Ti je gjithçka ime, bizele e ëmbël.” Pinaharap niya ako sa kanya’t hinalikan ang noo ko. Hindi ko man naiintindihan ang sinabi niya, alam kong mahal niya ako at maganda naman siguro ang meaning ng sinabi ni Anton.

“Tengo tanta suerte de tenerte en mi vida, mi bebé.”

“Estoy muy bendecido de tener a alguien como tú en mi vida, Anton.” We chuckled and decided to spend the rest of the night outside, talking to each other.

“Blair, you okay?”

“Medyo po, tita. Hindi naman na po ako masyadong nahihilo.”

“That’s good pero you still have to take your medicine kung may nararamdaman ka, just to be sure.”

“Tita, can I ask you something?” She nodded.

“What’s the reason behind my parents’ death?” She’s shocked by my question. Meron ba akong dapat malaman?

“Blair, your mom... same kayo ng condition.” Same kami ng condition? My mom?

“You see, you inherited your mother’s illness.”

“Why me?”

“Blair, only child ka lang. Well, she got it from your grandpa then ‘yon. About your dad, he died on an accident, you know that, right?” I nodded. Alam kong sa accident namatay si dad pero yung kay mom ang matagal ko nang gustong malaman.
