The bell hanging besides the door rang, warning him of a new client's arrival. He raised his head from his computer.-Welcome, he said with a smile.
The man who just entered was a redhead with purple eyes in a dark green suit. He had a strange hair noodle that made Caesar question himself about the weird hairstyles he recently met. He remembered the brunet who helped him a week ago, and took his desert.
-Thank you, the client gently replied.
-Do you know what you need?
He got closer to the showcase Caesar was standing against.
-Yeah, but not exactly. I thought a watch could be a good gift for my lover's birthday.
Caesar thought for a second.
-Alright, I'll let you look over the models. On your left for men, right for women.
The redhead smiled at him and walked towards his own left.
A couple of minutes had passed and the man was standing still, not having moved for a while. He was staring into the void, mumbling for himself, when Caesar approached, noticing the cherry earring that was swaying above his shoulder.
-Found anything to your liking?
-Huh? Yeah, no, sorry, I spaced out. I don't really know with what criteria I can decide, he responded, speaking rather quickly.
-Well, what does he love?
-Me, I guess...but that's not the topic, he said while frowning his eyebrows. He loves the ocean.
He remembered a blue model he kept more at the back of the store. The man followed him until they stood before an object that made his client's eyes glitter.
-That's it! he almost yelled. Oh and the engravings on the dial look like waves. I'm pretty sure he'll love the dark metallic blue. How expensive is it?
The redhead left, apparently in a good mood, and Caesar was also glad he could sell this watch.
He finally sat down to his cash desk and glanced at his screen.
But the bell rang again.
He silently hoped it wasn't another guy with a weird hairstyle, but just a regular client, when he looked at who just appeared.
And it wasn't another weird guy, but one he already met before.
-The crepe thief! he exclaimed.
The man raised his eyebrows in disbelief, a slight smile on his lips.
-Is that how you greet your clients? he teased.
-Only when it's the case.
-But, that's untrue! he indignantly said. It was your way of thanking me.
-Without my consent! And I don't think what you did for me worth five crepes, he retorted.
-C'mon, that's cheap.
Caesar had seen his mood ruined by that loud mouth, he wished for the day to end fast. He was internally denying that he was amused by the guy.
-Anyway tell my what you want if you're a client, said Caesar.
-People keep scolding me for being late, so I guessed a good remedy would be to see the time. I always forget to look at my phone to check what time it is.
-Let's hope you don't forget to look at your wrist, he said dryly.
The guy let out a small laugh, quite offended.
