"What's wrong with being confident?"

"How did you convince your dad to let you go?" Doyeon asked Seohyun who looked up at the house they stood in front of. There was music blasting to its full volume from the inside and from the windows they could see the crown of high schoolers bunched up in the living room dancing under colorful light.

"I told him I went to go hang at your place." Doyeon sighed and looked at her friend.
"You gotta stop lying to your dad so much."

"Hey part of it was true." She defended herself. "Im hanging out with you aren't I? Just not at your place" she shrugged and stepped forward to enter the overly crowded household.

"There are way to many people here for my liking."

"Its a highschool party Seohyun, what do you expect.

"Sup ladies!" The two girls turned to the voice callling out for them and were met with the faces of their friends, specifically Jeno, Renjun, and Jaemin.

"When did y'all get here?" Doyeon asked them to which they shrugged in response. "I dont know maybe like an hour ago?" Jeno answered.

"Want something to drink?" Jaemin asked the girls, Seohyun shook her head. "Im good."

"I want one" Doyeon smiled and followed Jaemin to the kitchen, which was turned into a makeshift bar. If someone else were driving, she would've accepted the offer as well, but the two girls agreed before hand that it was Seohyun's turn to be the sober one.

Her nose scrunched to the smell of sweat and alcohol mixed in the air. It wasn't very pleasant.

"So guys-"

They were gone. Seohyun sighed, throwing her head back in annoyance at how she was left alone by all her friends. Eventually, she just decided to take a seat on the couch, though she almost stopped herself noticing a couple making out on one side of it. But of course, it was either sit next to the couple or socialize.

Highschool parties were never Seohyun's type of scene. She would much rather be behind the wheel racing against an opponent. Doyeon was usually the one who dragged her along with her to parties and anything other than races, saying that as a highschool student, they should make the most of the time they have.

Bullshit.

Seohyun had her head resting in her hand that was sitting on the armrest, feeling a headache beginning to form.

"Well look who it is"

That voice.

One she didn't expect to hear that night, but life is full of surprises I guess. She opened a single eye to look at the figure standing in front of her.
