Song is Lost In the Echo by LINKIN Park.
Alright, here's the next chapter. And this story should also be finally picking up the pace! Anyways, I hope y'all enjoy this!
Iris's POV
I had no idea how Soundwave could possibly persuade Megatron to let him keep me as his assistant, and had little hope that I would actually survive my upcoming encounter with the feared Decepticon leader. I knew that he had a somewhat soft spot for Soundwave, but that could only go so far. Soundwave had been drilling me on how to act around Lord Megatron, so hopefully that would help my case. I noticed the "discreet" stares the Vehicons were giving us, no doubt surprised to see Soundwave handling a human. Those stares only made me more nervous. All too soon, we approached a room which was no doubt proceeded the bridge of the Nemesis. Soundwave didn't hesitate. I knew he needed to act as confident as possible in order for this to work. He casually strode inside as the door opened. The room was as dreary as the others. At the end, however, a huge metal throne stood proudly. On that throne was the scariest Cybertronian ever. He was huge, towering over even Soundwave. He had ruby red optics without a hint of kindness in them. His armor was a gunmetal gray, and very spiky. When he caught sight of my guardian, his first reaction was one of satisfaction.
"Soundwave! I have a-WHY HAVE YOU BROUGHT A DISGUSTING HUMAN ON MY SHIP?!" he yelled, angry. Soundwave remained calm, and I knew he was expecting this. His recordings sounded out.
"Found her...hurt...help her...she owes...Soundwave...wishes to use...human... as assistant..." he said in broken up recordings. Lord Megatron briefly calmed down after this, but then grew angry again.
"Why did you not seek my permission before you got yourself a human pet? And why did you not wish to use a Vehicon as your assistant?" he demanded.
Soundwave's POV
This could be going better, but he hadn't completely rejected the idea, so I had hope. All I had to do now was tell Lord Megatron what he wanted to hear. I said that not only was she more competent than the Vehicons, we could also use her to spy on the Autobots' human pets. I also said that she owed me her life, so her loyalty would be unquestionable. I also explained that I had only recently met the human, and had no desire for one beforehand. I didn't tell Lord Megatron about her because I wanted her to be as prepared as possible. I watched him smirk as I revealed the full extent of my plan to him. He did ask about the visor, which I explained. He wasn't too pleased to learn she was blind, but my workaround thankfully satisfied him. As I had this discussion with Lord Megatron, I glanced down to the young human sitting on my servo, patiently waiting to be spoken to. I couldn't help feeling a slight...tug in my spark at the sight of her rather cute bored face. I mentally laughed. She wouldn't be bored when Lord Megatron started grilling her. It was only a matter of a few minutes. After the tedious question and answer game I played with Lord Megatron, he turned to the girl in my servos.
"How can I be assured of your loyalty, human?!" he demanded. She proceeded to do exactly as I told her to do a thousand times before. Quickly kneeling, she said.
"I will gladly pledge my life, mind, and body to the Decepticon cause for as long as I am online. I will serve you, Lord Megatron, Supreme Leader of the Decepticons, for as long as I am able," she recited the Decepticon pledge. Or, at least, the part I wanted her to learn. Lord Megatron had a large smirk on his faceplates when she was done. She stayed in the kneeling position as I had taught her.
"Rise, human," Lord Megaton commanded. She obeyed.
"Now, what is your name?"
She only hesitated for a moment.
"My name is Iris, Lord Megatron," she replied respectfully. Lord Megatron's smirk grew.
"Welcome to the Decepticons, Iris. I would only give you this warning. Should you become a useless burden, you shall be taken with me for a...stroll. You can ask the Vehicons how many survive these strolls. Am I understood, fleshing?" he growled at her. She remained passive and calm. Good.
"Yes, Lord Megatron," she said, bowing.
"Excellent. Now get out of my sight!" he yelled.
I obediently bowed and moved to my usual work station. After giving Iris a part of my work, I started on my own duties.
Iris's POV
I tried not to shake out of relief as the "interview" ended. However, I couldn't resist a small sigh when Soundwave walked to what was most likely his usual terminal. He set me down, and gave me some work to do, which I immediately began. As I worked, I couldn't help but think, that was the worst job interview ever. Ha, if only I knew what the actual job would be like.
I hope y'all enjoy this chapter! I'm sorry it's been a while since I updated, but I'm out of town, and haven't really had time. See y'all next chapter!
