The Princeps

Author's POV:

It's been a fortnight since Harsha and Avaya met. But since then, Avaya was not able to forget him. He looked so cute with that cake smudged on his face and shirt.

Harsha himself makes sure that she stays safe and fine daily.

" Hello Princess, when is your family coming to the lunch?" Harsha asked her through the phone.

" Harsha, hi! Ma and Dad are not home and they took my brother along with them. " Avaya said in a hushed tone.

" Where are you? Are you in any sort of trouble?" Harsha panicked.

" No. I'm at work. And I'm not supposed to talk during the work. And also I have a day off today after this afternoon." Avaya said in the same hushed tone.

" Oh ok. Where did your family go?" Harsha asked as an idea popped in his mind.

" They are on a business trip. I'll talk to you later." Avaya said looking around her.

" Ok. But be ready. I'll come and pick you up for the lunch. All our friends are coming. I hope you can join!" Harsha proposed.

" Ok ok." Avaya said in a hurry and cut the call as her manager is coming.

Harsha waited outside her company fir 2 hours and finally she is out. She looked like a thief sneaking out of the house.

She saw Harsha leaning onto the car with his shades on. She slid inside his car without permission and asked him to start the car.

He did as his princess commanded. Once he is on the way to the palace, he asked " Are you okay?"

" Yeah! It's just the manager." Avaya said making faces causing him to laugh.

He got a call from his friends and asked Avaya to answer it as he is driving.

" Hello!" Avaya said.

" Hello! But isn't this Harsha's number? Who are you?" His friend asked.

" Yeah! It's Harsha's and I'm Avaya." Avaya spoke nervously.

" Oh. My. God. Avaya!" Everyone yelled on the top of their lungs making Harsha close his ears and Avaya laugh.

" After such a long time? By the way, what are you doing with Harsha?" A friend of Harsha asked.

" Yeah! Harsha is taking me to his home for lunch I guess!" Avaya said looking at him to see him smiling.

" Harsha! Is that why you are calling us to your home?" They yelled and he said yes.

" Meet you at Harsha's home sweety! Bye!" Harsha's group said and cut the call.

Harsha stopped the car infront of the huge wooden doors. The guards opened them to reveal a huge palace.

Avaya's mouth was wide open when her eyes fell on the magestic and glorious palace.

He stopped the car infront of the palace and handed the keys to the guards to park.

Harsha was walking her further with his hand on her lower back but she was awestruck looking at the palace. She totally arched her head to see the whole length of it.

" Har..... Harsha! It's a freaking palace and you.... you live here?" Avaya asked bringing a small smile on his lips.

" Yes." He replied and took her inside only to be greeted by his 5 friends.

They all engulfed Avaya and Harsha in a tight hug. Indranil and Kaivalya walked down the huge staircase. Avaya stood up and greeted them.

Harsha's parents looked at him who was red.

" Greetings to you too my child. Are you our prince's friend?" Kaivalya asked.

Avaya thought they called him prince as his nickname.

" Yes aunty." She replied meekly.

" Come! Join us for the lunch." Indranil said.

Avaya looked around and felt out of the place. She is in her formal attire.

She sat adjacent to Harsha while Indranil and Kaivalya sat at their head chairs.

The butlers started serving them. Both Indranil and Kaivalya observed how nervous she is.

" What happened child?" Kaivalya asked.

" Aunty! I feel like this is a kingdom and you both are the king and queen. It's like a royal lunch." Avaya chuckled nervously which make Indranil and Kaivalya to drop their spoons and look at her.

" Di....did I speak something wrong aunty?" Avaya asked looking between Harsha and his parents. Indranil's and Kaivalya's gazes turned to Harsha.

" Doesn't she know?" They asked Harsha to which he nodded in no.

" Don't know what?" Avaya asked panicked. She felt cold. Every person sitting there looked like a real royal. Either it's Arihant and Aditi or Indranil and Kaivalya or Kiaan and Avasya. They looked so rich and she felt out of place.

It was Harsha's idea to invite Arihant and Aditi to the lunch as he wanna share something important.

" You are in our kingdom princess. I'm King Indranil and this is my wife Queen Kaivalya. Your friend is the Prince of this kingdom." Indranil smiled trying to remove her nervousness.

" So you are The Princeps." Avaya asked feeling betrayed.

" Yes." Harsha said boldly looking into her glassy eyes.

" Nothing changes even now princess. Your relationship with my nephew is still the same. He is your friend." Arihant said.

Avaya looked at him and felt like she've seen him somewhere.

" Have we met before uncle?" Avaya asked looking at both Arihant and Aditi intently. Harsha smiled for a second hearing her.

" Oh god! You don't remember me? You bumped to me in your college. On Harsha's farewell party!" Arihant tried making her remember and that instantly brought a huge smile on her face.

" It's you uncle. How are you?" She yelled jumping on her seat. Everyone are amused to see this side of hers.

" I'm are fit and handsome princess." Arihant said boosting himself making her laugh.

Everyone had their lunch talking mostly about Avaya and their family.

" You said you work in your father's company and why are you scared of your manager?" Harsha asked.

" Work at it's place and relations at it's place Harsha. I don't mix them." Avaya said.

Everyone smiled at her motto and felt that there entered a new light after her entry in the palace.
