slowly preparations were being made by all of us to return to our separate schools,ruyi and suwa were going to be the first to leave,they were still in secondary school after all,ruyi was in SS2 and suwa was in JSS3.

Ese and I had the chance to talk,and I can't excalty say I'm okay with it all,but I can't be the devil stopping their love,so I am learning to adjust with seeing my brother and bestfriend act stupid around each other.

As for nate,he was just a sweetheart,he saw me on a video call with victor once,I swear I was so scared things would go awkward,but he just pretended it never happened.

the holidays were coming to an end and quite honestly I'll miss it,my dad and edos were having constants exchange of words,I envied him,being able to stand up for himself was admirable,I knew that would never happen with me,the moment I stand up to my dad or even my mom,a deliverance service would be held in my name to cast out the rebellious demon! I can just imagine my dad going all die by fire on me and my mom going all I destroy and I bind! and then the minister or pastor trying by all means to dislodge my head from my neck in prayer,as if removing my head from my neck would cast out the supposed demon.but African parents sha,they are just the real deal.

today was a friday,dad and mom had gone for a 3 day church camp in benin,translation.. we had 3 days of unlimited freedom! mom shared the house chores,but most of the cooking fell on me,suwa could assist,but in reality all she did was bring up gist each time I was cooking,not that I was complaining,her company was unrivaled.

mom and dad had just left Ekpoma,when we all started making plans,edosa was going to invite ese over,I would invite nate,and ruyi said he wanted to invite a friend of his,according to him" I'm crushing on her big time"
"abegi,you are too young to do girls ruyi" I said to him
"says who?"he shot back
"says us o" edos quipped
"us asin you and you?" he pointed to edos and I respectively
I hummed a response I was too busy trying to make stew,and suwa was helping me arrange the rooms,while the buffaloes occupied space in my kitchen,but I knew they were here for meat...I pray o

i was brought back to reality when i heard a crackling sound,ruyi was laughing,obviously at edos and I
"epa wetin dae funny you now?" edos asked him
after giving him awhile to stop his cha-hideous laughter he said
"you that can't keep your hands and mouth off ese,especially in our room,you stand boldly and say I can't do girls?" he asked edos who glared at him,I just laughed at their banter

"and you..why are you laughing?" ruyi faced me
"I have freedom of laughter biko" I answered him
"ooh oh,is that so? I'm sure you also have freedom to stop attaching your lips to Nate's abi?"
I started coughing...how the hell did this wizard know that?
he and edos laughed
"eseosa eseosa" edos teased
when I regained myself I asked "how on earth did you know that?"
he smiled,"I saw him eating your mouth like it was dinner or something on the road last week...on the road o" he emphasized
"aah ese you na bosslady o" edosa cheered

"will you shut up,like you aren't worse than I'm" I fired at him

"both of you are bad laowowo"ruyi added

and then it clicked,I remember how he was acting when I got home that evening,this sneaky devil!

"no wonder you were acting like the devil that evening" I said

he just gave me a cheeky grin

"oya you people should leave my kitchen o" I said driving the both of them away.

"but we nova collect meat na" edos whined

"meat go kill you" i shot at him

they both grumbled as they left the kitchen,leaving me to focus on my cooking,I was nearly done when nate and ese walked in

"I'm so glad you can cook" ese started while nate just sat on the counter

"good morning to you too" I answered sarcastically,nate just smiled at my childishness

I was almost done with the rice,

"sooo,I think there's something you might want to tell me babes" ese asked me while raising her brows

I spared her one second,then I said "no"

"are you sure?" she asked again

I sigh exasperated "aunty what did you hear biko?"

"ooh I don't know maybe something about someone eating someone else's face off? and the both someone's kept it from me" ese deadpanned

the kitchen went dead quiet.
