I was cold: the soft air glided across my skin with grace. A familiar silhouette appeared in front of my eyes. Jellal. His gaze meets my eyes. He looks… worried.

“Are you okay?” somehow appears right in front of me, smiling, he grabs my wrist. I let him, enjoying the sensation against my skin. Cooling.

“I’m fine,” I finally replied. “I should be asking you that question”

He just smiles and shrugs, leaving the wind as the only noise. I finally step back to find that he’s scarred. I stare at his arm: vivid red marks stand out. I’m guessing he can read my face, as he replies.

“Don’t look so worried, I’m getting better” he murmurs almost silently.

“Really? I don't think so”

To this, he just stares. I stare back meeting his cold blue eyes.

“Come, let’s duel” he murmured suddenly.

“W-what? Now? All of a sudden? Oh please, you're injured!”

“Then that’s better for you. Now come on”

He grabbed my wrist again, sending sparks down my body. I took a deep breath in, I’m weaker than him and he knows it. What was he planning? I looked at him: he looked weaker and more fragile. I wonder what he must have been doing. He caught me gazing, and gave me a fraction of a smile. We reached an empty place in the village. He let go of my hand.

“Are you ready?” he sounds too calm. “You can make the first move.”

“Are you sure?” I asked and he nodded. I acquiesced but continued anyway.

I changed my Nakagami armour, (picture for reference) he knew I meant business. I attacked… but not surprisingly, I failed. He dodged, sending me to eat dirt. I got up, not willing to go down. I went to attack again but he dodged with extra speed. I tried again and again, but I just couldn’t do it. I started to lose my breath, which I should have paid more attention to. Jellal noticed my slow pace and commented on it.

“Wanna give up already?” he smirked. The audacity. He’s trying to provoke me. He appeared behind me and grabbed my arms. I froze.

“What’s wrong?” he asked smirkingly. He touched my face gently. That’s it. I kicked him in the groin, and he fell over.

I couldn’t believe it. Jellal would never do that.
