YEJI POV

practice, practice, and practice. that's all we've been doing here. technically, it's the only thing we're supposed to so as trainees to be able to debut as an idol someday, right? so yeah...

because we're in the debut team, since almost last year?- it's been harder for all of us. the choreos, lessons, the responsibilities and everything got tougher. not that we're complaining, but it just is. 

don't get me or us wrong, we expected this. we are looking forward to this, especially to extreme it would be when we become idols. we're just trainees now yet we already need to protect our privacy, watch our words and actions, or become careful in every aspect all the time.

because one wrong move can either help u or destroy u, and when i say be careful in every aspect, i'm pertaining to even the tiniest details. u have to make everything seamless.

like right now, wherein pd-nim himself is here in the dance room, monitoring our performances closely. it's not just us 5 that's nervous or worried to disappoint him, it's everyone. even the teachers, 'cause they're in charge of helping us mold our skills to greatest extent of it.

that's why in this very room, the air is cold and the vibe is tense. we all need to be the best now.

"okay, next batch please." pd-nim called out. the group stood up to the front and waited for their music cue, we're next after them.

"hey, Yeddeong." Ryuddaeng whispered, holding my hand.

we're at the back, no one will notice, no one will see.

"i'm nervous, Ryu. pd-nim just showed up unexpectedly." i said, eyeing the group before us.

"i know, we all are. but try to loosen up, we'll be fine." she said, rubbing the back of my hand.

"i just don't want him to take back the possibility of us debuting soon." i faced her with worried eyes, she had the same. between us, she's the one that will always encourage even if she feels the same. she will always say 'u can do it' 'we'll be fine' 'relax and enjoy it', and i am thankful.

"he won't, trust me. as long as we do our best, we'll be fine. if we can't debut now, we will soon." she softly smiled at me with those loving eyes. as i was about to smile back, Chaer nudged me.

"unnie, u guys should look ahead. they're about to finish and pd-nim's glancing our way." she said, making Ryu let go of my hand and the both of us look ahead as if nothing happened.

i looked at my friends to my left and i can sense that they feel the same, tho a bit more relaxed than me. i guess i'm being way too pressured on my own. i have to loosen up, i need to.

"ne, thank u for ur performance." teacher-nim said.

"next is-"

"-Hwang Yeji and her friends." pd-nim said, eyeing us 5 as we stand up to bow lightly before going to the front. as we settle on our formation, i looked at teacher-nim to play the music. with a nod, the intro of the song came in. before the beat drops, i spared a glance at pd-nim.

he gave me a small smile, one u wouldn't take as a smile if u're not observant.

i was startled but didn't show it. who wouldn't? he never smiled at the other groups before us.

and so the first step of our choreo was executed....

and done..finally our performance finished.
