I shake my head. I want to squirm away from him, but my body is completely frozen. "W-Where is July?"

"I'm July!" He pleads. But I can't see his face. I can't see anything. What if he is just another hallucination? What if this whole time he's been a hallucination?

Hello lovely readers!

Though I never dreamed that it would be possible, I have actually finished writing a book and have started writing a SEQUEL of it. It is such a big deal for me, I can't even explain it!

So yes, for all those who have been eagerly waiting for it, the sequel is gonna be published soon 😭💕.

--------------------------

I remember feeling a sting in my chest, thinking about how I was late. "Why were you facing the window?"

The reply came a few seconds later,
during which I almost drift back away. "I don't know."

I opened my eyes, finding his fixed on mine. There was always something so warm and comforting in the greenery of Dawn's gaze; at the tender way he looked at me, as if there is no other sight in this world he would rather see.

--------------------------

I started writing the sequel soon after I finished writing the first book, but then I paused in the middle and went back to the first book, as I found way too many things to edit. Now the editing is completed, and I'm fully focusing on the sequel, and working on How Our Youth Flies Away only when I get bored of writing this.

I have written a lot of scenes already, but all of them are not arranged. I just get a scene or a conversation in my head and write it down before I forget. So yes, it's a bit messy now. Needless to say, the updates will be slow. Perhaps once a week, or even less. But I will try my best!

My school will probably open soon, so I wanted to finish writing more than 50% of the book before that as i will get dangerously busy when that happens. As I said, I will try my best, just for you guys :)

----------------------

I hold his gaze. There is pain in his eyes. I can see, he has been inside the shell for too long; his back aches from carrying the heavy weight of it. He looks down again, pats my knee, then puts his forehead on my other knee. His soft, scentless hair brushes against my nose and cheek. Every place where my skin makes contact with his is being smothered by ice, while every other place is being brushed by a burning matchstick. Then he whispers, in a faint voice audible to only me, "I'm sorry, Cedar."

-----------------------

Now to the main announcement! The prologue of the sequel The Wings Of A Caged Bird, if all goes well, and if I don't die for some stupid reason, will be out on 15 OCTOBER, 2020!

That's right, only a fortnight away. I'm so excited!! Guys, I promise, the sequel will not disappoint. Even as I'm writing it, I sometimes shock myself over how good it's coming out. I so so SO can't wait for you guys to read it!

------------------------

"What— what do you . . . mean?"

Of course I know what he means. But I want to confirm if what my ears just heard, or what my eyes just saw, or what my hands just did not feel are all miraculously just a joke, or a sick prank, or a dream, or a figment of my imagination. This can't be it. I must still be unconscious.

------------------------

I think it's safe to say the theme of the sequel is gonna be very different from this book. You will discover more about July and Dawn, and also Edgar and Alison. There will be some new characters and I'm sure you all will love them. Some questions will be answered, some others will remain an evermore mystery. Anywho, this is going to be an exciting and sad journey. Be prepared!

Will see you all on the 15th. Take care of yourselves and your families. Stay hydrated and follow all the health guidelines. Thank you so much for looking forward to this. Cheers!

— love, Poma
