[ November 14, 2032 ]

The phone was ringing off the hook.

Ever since they taped the news report, people have been calling nonstop.

The calls woke the girl from her sleep.

Yawning, she rubbed her eyes and walked out of her room.

Surely, there was a way to silence the ringing.

She debated on waking Stranger up..

But, curiosity overtook her.

She walked over to the home phone and hesitantly picked it up.

Pressing the answer button, she held the phone to her ear.

"Hello?"

"Hi, is this Star? The girl that was on the news?"

"Um, yes it is."

She turned around to see if Stranger had woken up yet.

"Alright. I was wondering if you would like to come and do a modeling gig for Shine Magazine?"

Turning around, she smiled, imagining herself on the front page of a magazine.

"Oh, um, I think that would be a good idea. When would I need to start-"

Before she could finish her sentence, her body went limp, falling onto the floor.

Her eyes were shut off and she could only hear what was happening around her.

"Yes, who is this?"

Stranger was talking now.

Unknown to the girl, he had heard the whole conversation on the other phone.

She was panicking at this point. She had no idea what happened and why she couldn't move.

She heard the call end and Stranger walk over.

"I put you into hibernate mode. You can still hear everything, just your body is unresponsive. It is a very... helpful tool."

She could just imagine the terrifying smile on his face.

"I don't want you answering the phone unless I am able to be in the room with you."

The girl felt angry.

Angry that she didn't have any free will of her own.

She was tired of being treated like a child.

"I just want to protect you, Darling."

"You're mine..."
