Camila POV
I got out of school and decided I would go see my dad today i haven't seen or talked to him since the whole drug thing that went down I just didn't want him to see me like that
In two days I will be five months sober so I thought it would be perfect timing if he was at the house and not working I was going to come last month but he wasn't here any of the times I wanted to visit
When I pulled into the driveway of my old home I felt nervous seeing my fathers car there
I turned the bike off walking up to the white door I use to walk though everyday or the same old doormat my dad got when we first moved
I knocked on the door pushing my fear to the side
The door swung open and I seen my dad with more facial hair then when I last saw him
"Hey dad" I said as he opened the door and looked at me before I knew it he was pulling me into a bone crushing hug I hugged him back after a short time he finally let go
"Hey mija how have you been come in" he told me signaling to come into my old home
I walked in but this time it was different there were couches and a tv on the wall I looked over to the kitchen to see a new glass kitchen table sitting there
"I've been good more then good actually I'm about to be five months sober pa" I told him following him to the soft couches
"That's great I'm so proud of you" he told me making a tear escape
"How have you been pa" I asked him wiping the tear away
"I've also been really good mija not long before you left Lauren's father offered me a job at his company and I accepted knowing we needed it" he told me witch explained all the new furniture
"That great dad" I told him
"I'm just glad your okay now" he told me pulling me into another hug
"You know you can come back or stay here I never said you had to leave" he told me
"I know pa it's just Lauren makes life easier without her I just feel empty inside" I explained to him how much I needed Lauren
"I get it she has been you emotional support system for awhile now but don't ever be afraid to come here this is still your home" he told me making me smile
"Thank you pa for everything" I told him giving him one last hug
"Why don't you stay for dinner I will make your favorite" he said standing up happily
"Sure why not" I said following him into the kitchen
"Okay go upstairs I'll let you know when foods done" he told me
I gladly went upstairs feeling tired from baseball tryouts I wasn't as fit as I used to be so it was a little harder now but I never gave up
I went upstairs to see my room cleaned compared to the last time I was here being here brought back memories of when I would get high till I couldn't even see in that bathroom
I shook the old memories and thought of my soon to be baby girl I was so happy when we got the news we would be having a girl I almost fell out my chair at the doctors
I pulled the photos from the last appointment with Lauren from my wallet looking at the pictures confirming my baby was indeed a girl
till eventually I fell asleep with the photos in my hand
I woke up to my father knocking on the door to the room
"Dinner is ready" he said with a smile marking me chuckle
