Life for Amara Solo was anything but easy. Her life changed so drastically it was hard to ignore. It all started when the girl was just three years old.

The young girl levitated, upside down, a few feet off the ground her long brunette hair just barley touching the tile floor. Her uncle, Luke sat in a chair his hands raised out in front of him as he used the force to hold the girl up. Lando Calrissian, Her father's long time frenemy sat beside the Jedi a bright smile on his face as he watched the girl cheer and giggle. Chewbacca, the girl's favorite Wookie sat on the opposite side of Luke. His hands behind his head and his legs crossed. Amara continued to laugh as Luke slowly began spinning her. They occupied the waiting area of the medical bay awaiting the arrival of the newest addition to the family. The doors slid open reveling the girls father, Han Solo, who stood with his arms crossed at the sight of his daughter

"Luke put her down, she's turning purple" Han ordered. Luke did as he was told setting the young girl on her butt.

"That waf fo much fun" The girl cheered causing the others to laugh.

"Still can't pronounce her 's' yet" Han laughed as he knelt beside his daughter. She smiled up at him. The older man admired her eye's loving that she had the same brown eye's he did.

"Are you ready to meet your new baby sibling?" He asked. The girl's eye's widened and an even larger smile broke out on her face. She jumped up in excitement but quickly fell back onto her butt. Han grabbed the girl holding on to her

"Are you okay sweetheart?" He questioned

"Fpinny" The man let out a sigh of relief before laughing at her pronunciation of the word. They sat for a moment letting the girl's head settle before he lifted her into his arms walking down the corridor, the other's following. Amara clapped and cheered

"I'm a big fister" Over and over again, the other's cheering along with the girl loving how excited she was. Han opened the door reveling his wife laying on the bed a bundle of blankets in her arms. Amara gasped at the sight squirming in her fathers arm's. The man sat her down and watched as she ran over to her mother. Han came up behind the girl lifting her onto the bed

"Any last guesses?" Leia asked her brother and friend's

"I'm still confident it's another girl" Luke answered

"Nah it's a boy this time" Lando added. Leia smiled down at her daughter as the young girl admired the baby.

"Amara, met your brother" Lando hit Luke's shoulder

"Told ya" They all laughed as Amara gently rubbed the baby's face

"What'f hif name?" She asked looking up at her mother

"Ben Anakin Solo" Leia answered this time her attention on her brother as they shared a knowing look. Luke smiled at her.

"Hi Ben. I'm your big fister, Mara" The young girl whispered admiring the baby.

That night Amara laid in her bed watching the star's that where projected on her ceiling as she struggled to sleep. Her blue bunny wrapped in her arms as she snuggled under the blankets. Suddenly a loud cry broke through the silence. Amara sat up looking for the source before realizing it was her baby brother. She pulled herself to her feet quietly opening her bed room door. She walked down the long hallway. She reached his bed room, the door ajar. She opened the door a small light illuminating the room just enough to see the crying baby. She wondered over to his crib pulling herself up the side into the crib. She laid beside the boy rubbing his head.

"I'm going to protect you for the reft of our live'f" Amara whispered. He eventually stopped crying falling back asleep. The small girl smiled down at him before drifting off to sleep herself. Han and Leia who had been watching from the door smiled at each other happy with the family they had created. Han lifted the small girl from the crib tucking her back into her bed laying her stuffed bunny beside her.

Amara wandered the village surrounding her mother's resistance's base. The ten year old kicked rock's around as she walked not having a destination in mind. She heard laugh's and plea's to 'stop'. Her heart skipped a beat at the sound of her brother's voice. She ran off in the direction the voice's where coming from. Ben was curled up on the floor covered in dirt as three older boy's stood over him kicking dirt at him, laughing.

"Hey" The girl screamed her blood boiling as she stomped over to them. Ben let out a sigh of relief at the sight of his older sister.

"Leave him alone" She growled as she helped her brother to his feet

"And what if we don't?" The older boy questioned

"I'll make you stop myself" The older boy's laughed

"What's a girl like you gonna do?" He laughed. Amara raised her fist pulling her arm back before punching him the face. The boy fell to the ground blood gushing from his nose. The two other boy's looked between the girl and boy bewildered. Amara smirked turning around grabbing Ben's hand as they walked off.

"Mara! Why would you do that? You're gonna get in so much trouble" Ben said as they headed back to the base

"I don't care. I'm your older sister. It's my job to protect you even if it mean's getting trouble." Amara answered as she squeezed his hand tighter as they continued walking.

"I'd die protecting you"

When they made it back to base Amara went straight to her mother's office confessing to her mother what had happened. Instead of being angry Leia praised the girl for sticking up for her brother but she was still grounded not being aloud to fly with her father for a week, but to Amara it was worth it. It would always be worth it as long as her brother was safe, loved, and protected.
