5. Ajax

"Man your territory is huge"  Axel exclaimed as we made our way inside after I had showed AJ and his friends around the territory with Papa's permission, "No pun intended by the way"

I tilted my head while his friends and AJ rolled their eyes at his comment. I shrugged and led them towards the gym where I could hear Derek talking to Dillon who is also AJ's friend and who refused to tag along with us.

"Then he should leave him behind it's not like he's anything special. He's not a normal person like us. He got a deformity" Dillon replied and I bit the inside of my cheek at his words as I cast down my eyes and from beside me I felt AJ tense as his fist clenched at his sides before he made his presence known

"I'm not forcing you or anyone for that matter to remain here, Dillon. If you wish to continue our journey to California you're more than welcomed to leave" Dillon froze as his eyes widened hearing AJ's voice and turned around to face us his eyes trained on his friends.

"I-I" Dillon stuttered and I hid a smile when I saw Derek roll his eyes before walking towards him and stood behind him

"The only one with a deformity in this place is you Dillon. Ajax is no different than you and me. It's quite shameful that you'd react to your second Alpha in that manner" He stated and smiled in satisfaction as Dillon gulped but before he could say or react his eyes suddenly popped out before he was running out of the gym making me blink before also trailing after him not waiting to see if the others were following since I could hear their footsteps right behind us.

They kept asking questions as we made our way towards the infirmary which made me frown. Infirmary only meant one of two things either someone got hurt or someone went into labor.

I stifled a chuckle when he suddenly stumbles almost falli no on his face but he caught his balance in time as we reached the infirmary where Beau, our family along with Derek's family as well as Carlos were waiting in the hallway of the delivery room.

"Why aren't you in the delivery room?" Derek asked Carlos when he reached them

"They're still pre-"the doors opening to the delivery room opened and Cameron's head stuck out

"We're ready so you can come in" he said looking at Carlos who nodded, took a deep breath and with a squeeze from Sebastian, he walked inside with me noticing that he was already wearing the scrubs needed.

"You reek" Beau suddenly said with his nose scrunched in disgust making me let out a small giggle and blushed when I caught AJ's eyes.

"Well duh, I was in the gym when you mind linked me about Connie going into labor" Derek replied in deadpanned and my brother flipped him off making him chuckle

"Oh, hey guys" he said looking over Derek's shoulder at us; AJ and his friends stood awkwardly in the hall

"Sorry for leaving the gym so abruptly" Derek said and AJ shook his head

"No need. It seemed like it was an emergency" he said and Derek nodded before I took AJ's hand and led him over to my parents who greeted him with a smile and hand shake

"I hope you enjoyed the tour Ajax took you on" Mama said and AJ nodded with a smile.

"We did, thank you for allowing us to stay here."

"No need, you're Ajax's mate after all and it's the least we can do. Besides it's nice having new people around," Papa replied and AJ smiled looking down at me which made me blush and mama cooed pinching my cheeks making me glare at him

Not nice mama I signed and he grinned

"Sorry sorry"

I sighed and shook my head as we just sat and waited for the newest arrival of the pack, Connie's baby. We all looked up at the sound of the doubles doors to the infirmary burst open to see my two younger cousins, Everly and Jake burst through with Jake speaking

"Hey we got here a-" I furrowed my brows with a tilt of my head as I watched my younger cousin stare at none other than Dillon who was staring at him with eyes wide open.

"Uh, Jake?" Everly asked waving a hand in front of Jake's face making him shake his head breaking eye contact with Dillon

"Yeah?"

"You okay there dude?" I heard Derek ask and Jake nodded before finishing his comment about them being late but we just shook our heads with Derek  telling them that they were on time since Connie was still in the delivery room and we haven't heard anything from but the not even a second after Derek had said that did we hear a loud wail making the family burst into cheers.

The door to the room opened and Carlos walked out with tears rolling down his face with a smile

"It's a girl" he said and we all cheered and clapped

"How is she?" Everly asked and Carlos smiled walking over to Sebastian who smiled up at him

"She's good. They're going to be wheeling her out to recovery soon" he said and just then the double doors opened and Cameron came out followed by a couple nurses that wheeled Connie out. She looked exhausted with sweat covered her face but she looked beautiful all the same. In her arms she held a small bundle of light green and lilac blankets.

"Hi guys" she greeted with a tired smile and a wave before she was pushed down the hall

We all followed after her but left a few moments later to let her get some rest. I was just making my way towards the swing set when I felt a presence behind me and looked over my shoulder to find AJ following.

Yes?

"Where are you going?" He asked and I pointed towards the swing set and he hummed nodding

Would like to join me?

A smile broke free and he nodded and so we both walked over to the swing set and just sat there looking at the pups giggling while the teens played catch near the tree line and the adults were talking about what adults talk about. It was a peaceful day but somewhere deep inside I had a feeling that said peace was not gonna last.
