Finally it was the day of the picnic, Jotaro was checking every minute how much time was left of school until he and Kakyoin would be free from the clutches of education. At least for the day so they could have an enjoyable picnic at a nearby park with their moms. Why couldn't time just move a bit faster just for a moment? The boy wanted school to be over now, after all playing with his friend was a lot more fun then sitting here in class. The nine year old sighed before the last bell finally rang, he quickly scrambled to get his stuff before walking towards Kakyoin who was still trying to solve something mathematical, honestly Jotaro didn't care what it was. "Come on let's go" He said, trying to get Kakyoin to stop working so they could leave for the picnic. "Stop being a nerd, I made you cherry pie for the picnic" Jotaro said, accidentally spilling the surprise. Star platinum even tried to cover the boys mouth but wasn't fast enough yet.

Kakyoin looked at the boy with clearly excited eyes. "There's cherry pie?'' He asked, beginning to pack his stuff now that Jotaro had revealed the surprise. "Let's go, our moms are probably waiting" The redhead said, really happy his friend had made cherry pie just for him. It made him feel special like no one else had made him feel like before. He felt special and loved with his mom but it was different with Jotaro.

The two ran outside, both hungry and in the mood to play with eachother at the park they would go to. "Oh there you two are, are you ready to go?" The red haired woman said with a smile on her face. Kakyoin's mom loved seeing her son spend time with his currently only friend he's had so far in his life. Jotaro was a good kid too despite his often stoic outside, not to mention how much he seemed to care for Kakyoin.

"Yep" Both said, holding each other's hand to show they also knew to stay together. Both mother's smiled before they all made their way towards the park which was rather big, enough room for multiple picnics to be happening at once and for the kids to play. Thankfully it was rather calm so there was enough places to play and run around without disturbing someone meaning the boys could play around while the mothers set up the picnic. "You two go play, but be careful okay?" Holly said with a sweet smile on her face.

Jotaro and Kakyoin nodded and ran off, deciding to play some tag together while their mothers set up the picnic. "You can't catch me" The redhead called out running as fast as he could. He knew Jotaro was faster then him though so he sometimes used hierophant green to trip the taller boy up.

"Hey no fair, Star can't reach as far as hierophant can" Jotaro called out, feeling a bit jealous that Kakyoin had a stand that could reach him while he couldn't reach the other boy. That meant Jotaro had to be smart, thankfully he came up with an idea and grinned wanting to try it out. When Kakyoin had hierophant send the appendages to him Star Platinum grabbed them and pulled them. "Gotcha"

The red head let out a surprised yelp as he felt himself being pulled back and falling backwards, he expected to hit the ground and be tagged. Only to be surprised when he felt Jotaro catch him. He blushed a bit before laughing and giving Jotaro a smile. "You caught me, now it's my turn to try and tag you with hierophant green" Kakyoin said, laughing at how he reacted with a pout. Why were his cheeks slightly pink though? Maybe it was just Kakyoin seeing it weird.

Before Jotaro could even run away to avoid being tagged their mothers called them to come and eat something. He took Kakyoin's hand and walked with the redhead towards the spot where the food was.

They sat down, looking at all the food with hungry eyes. Kakyoin was the first to grab a piece of cherry pie and a sandwich, he wondered how good the pie would be. The redhead took a bite, his eyes lighting up. "This is amazing, Jotaro how did you make this so good?" He said a clearly happy and excited smile on his face, eating the entire slice of pie.

"I got some help from my mom" The boy admitted, feeling a bit embarrassed that he wasn't able go do it on his own. But Jotaro was happy his best friend liked it so much despite that, it made him wonder if he should try and learn how to cook or bake more. After all seeing Kakyoin liking a pie so much it made him wonder how he'd react to other sweets that had his favourite food in it. Jotaro stopped his train of thought though as he grabbed some food for himself and began to eat it.

Once done with eating the boys helped clean everything up. "Mom, we're going swimming with dolphins tomorrow right?" Kakyoin asked, having gotten an idea to have a sleepover with his best friend. Receiving a nod from his mother the redhead smiled and looked at Jotaro. "Do you want to have a sleepover at my house?" he asked, a clearly excited smile on his face.

Jotaro smiled back, before nodding. "Yare, yare daze. You don't have to ask when you know I'll say yes" He said with a chuckle, hiding his excitement about having a sleepover and swimming with dolphins with his best friend. Although everyone could tell he was extremely excited. "Wait... mom can I stay at Noriaki's for tonight?" The boy asked, realising he should probably as his mom for permission first before even saying yes.

Holly chuckled, she loved seeing her sweet little boy so happy and excited for something. It didn't happen often after all and even when it did happen it was usually because Kakyoin was there. "Of course, I don't see why you shouldn't be allowed to" The woman said, looking at the other woman to make sure it was okay. After getting a nod Holly picked her son up with a smile. "Let's get your stuff first and then I'll drop you off. Does that sound good?" She asked, after receiving a nod from her son she smiled. "Great we'll see you later, if that's okay?"

"Of course it's okay, I'll make sure there'll be a spot for Jotaro to sleep" Kakyoin's mother said with a sweet smile on her face. Waving goodbye she couldn't help but be happy, her son had made a friend for the first time and it was a good friend too. The woman hoped the friendship could last very long.

Once they arrived Jotaro immediately ran towards his room, grabbing everything that he might need for the sleepover. His dolphin plushie, his pyjamas with dolphins on it, a book he really liked and clothes for the next day were things he grabbed while his mom was grabbing things like his toothbrush and hairbrush for the night. "Sweetie would you like snacks for tomorrow?" Holly asked, chuckling when she saw how many things her son wanted to fit into a rather small bag.

"Yes please, do we have cherries?" Jotaro asked, wanted to bring his friend's favourite snack. When his mom nodded he quickly went to grab the box full of cherries they had. Soon enough they had gotten everything for the sleepover, Holly checked one last time before the two made their way towards Kakyoin's house. Jotaro knocked on the door with a clearly happy smile on his face.

Kakyoin's mother was the one who opened the door. She smiled when she noticed how excited Jotaro seemed to be. "Ah there you are, Noriaki began to worry you weren't coming" The woman joked as Kakyoin ran towards the other boy to give him a welcome hug. Jotaro gladly gave it back.

"Call me if he causes any trouble or is difficult to handle" Holly said, smiling as she gave her son his bag with all the things they packed. "Have fun okay sweetie?" She said, giving Jotaro the usual kiss on the cheek she often gave him.

Jotaro nodded and ran inside with Kakyoin, yelling a bye mom. "He'll have fun here, don't worry we'll make sure he's safe" The other woman reassured, knowing the kids were probably already playing or eating cherries together.
