I swear, I'm going to try really, really hard to not do these too often, but something's come up that I wasn't planning for and I absolutely can't control. I was hoping for smooth updating but that may not be possible.

So, I have a few chapters written; they're edited and waiting in my drafts already. That being said, I live in Louisiana. We live in the northern part of the state, but there's a chance we're going to lose power with these storms-- I've heard there's a possibility of us getting tropical storm force winds. There's also the chance my parents, who live on the southeast coast of Texas, will have to evacuate here if things get hairier than they're currently guessing it will be.

I'm not overly worried for us-- we're up "north" so storm surge won't be an issue and having grown up on the coast, this isn't anything new to me. I've slept through a CAT 1 hurricane before, including the coinciding tornado bouncing down our street. Am I regretting not staying in New Mexico? A little bit, haha, but it's fine. We'll be hunkered down with food and since we have a gas stove, we'll be fine. As long as the city water isn't compromised, we'll be fine with everything that entails, as well. We'll just be really warm if we lose power.

It might throw a wrench in things, though. If we lose power, I can't update. Even if data services aren't interrupted, we don't have the best service where we are and our focus will be on keeping updated with what's going on. If my parents evacuate here, I'll get behind once the three that are already edited are posted. I love them dearly, but four adults and three dogs (potentially six adults, three dogs, and a cat if my brother and his wife have to join us) will not be conducive to a creative environment.

I'll do what I can to make sure there isn't a huge delay in me updating, but I, unfortunately, have no control over Mother Nature. Send good vibes towards the southern part of the state, though. Two so close together has the potential to be a real nightmare and this is a horrible time to be stuck in an evacuation shelter for those who can't use hotels or family members' homes for whatever reason.
